Edit CPU team pass tactics, #1. Trying to fix FIFA using only ini and slider edits is impossible. Much more is needed to fix the core game-coding issues. The CPU in my squads test file for example regularly ends up with 15 fouls and 5 cards every game, but the only way to accomplish that is via massive, unrealistic player rating edits.
Likewise, changes to the game play - the sort of ball-movement realism you and others want - requires going into the formations tables and editing the xy positional values, as well as individual player assignments:
This setup (as one example) tightens up CPU positional play. It eliminates long balls because the team moves up the pitch together, meaning more players are in position to play/receive short passes. In a game I just finished, the CPU in one instance crossed midfield, after which it passed the ball
50 times (I counted them on replay) before finally taking a shot. Why? Because the game program recognizes there are 8-9 passing options at any one time, rather than the usual 2-3 as with the regular formation setup.
