Does it warrant comparison with FIFA? NO.

3 ver ygood points. I think thats a good way of looking at it, they've not done much to it, if anything, but i suppose WE will be able to. lol.

Yes, it's insane. I think the final game will install all the commentary files for all the languages, instead of just asking you which language you would like to install during setup

Just thought i would let everyone know that i got the damn game working at last. 800x600 medium detail with it windowed. it only slows down a bit in the 18yard box and it is playable now. The interface issues seem to have fixed themselves and all is right with the world.
Cheers Glory, AccilateM and Liternit for the advice and help you offered, it was very much appreciated.
...oh, decent game too:p

I hear alot of people having a GeForce 4 mx 440. So do i.
Let me tell you the game is still playable.

All you have to do is put it on low quality, 640 * 480 Res.
Than with your video card turn off:
1. V-Sync (worthless ****)
2. Anti Alaising

After you have done that, try playing the game. The cut scenes are slow, but the game runs as smooth as can be. The one exception though is that it does slow down slightly in the 18 yard box.

That is fullscreen, not windowed

New to this thing

Guys, I don't own a PC and installed the demo at my girlfriend's, she's got one of those e-machines 1.8Ghz P3 or something like that... anyway,

I noticed the gameplay is slow motion no matter what I did. Now, since I don't know her specs I can't really tell you what I was or wasn't doing, but I sure wish there was a way to at least play the game without having to do that much modification to your PC.

That's why I own a Mac and not a PC, almost always you have to strip down your PC or modify a bunch of things just to have a friggin game demo work. That's completely stupid. I hate Microsoft and Konami.

APPLE IS KING.

The thing about this is like some of you said, it's a cheap PS2 emulation, and since I know Konami, they will make the full version be just that, a cheap emulation.

I was so eager to play this game, because besides hating a lot of things that Konami doesn't do, I still enjoy the gameplay on WE6, and now that I was so hyped up to play PES3 I just can't because the PC I use is just not good enough for Konami (5GB for a game, what the hell is that?)

I play FIFA 2004 demo just fine, but this stupid PES3 demo gives me the slomo gameplay. I guess I'll just stick with PS2 and buy the game in Feb when it gets here in the US. Meanwhile, I'll be playing FIFA which is also a really good game.

Kudos to EA for their great improvement besides some stupid little things.

F!@)(#ck stupid Konami which besides having the greatest gameplay out there, that's all they have, everything else is pure s!@#)!@(#it.

BTW, if any of you can help me play the game in normal speed w/o stripping down the comp, let me know.

THX.

OH no. How come those using the Nvidia Geforce 4 MX 440 have different results?

Milkman Joe - I've did everything like you've said and it still remains in slow motion.

my PC:

P4 1.8 Ghz
GeForce2 MX 400
256 RAM

I can't run the game in the normal speed. I tried all the suggestions in this forum. The situation is improved but still in slow motion. The game runs smoothly when the ball is in the side of the field but slow motion in the middle of the field and near the goals.

Actually I don't mind upgrading my video card but the problem is the 200W power supply and no AGP slot.

Can anybody give me some suggestions?

Thanks a lot.

New power supply and mobo? :S

Edit:k being a bit more useful, but still same answer...
check this link http://www.ati.com/support/agpchart/index.html last PCI gfx card by ATI was teh radeon 7000 & PES3 requires at least an 8500...

Edit No 2 PNY has a geforce fx 5200 PCI card http://www.pny.com/products/verto/geForceFx/5200pci.asp you'll have to read up on it to see how it performs/compatibility with your system

Thanks Glory.

Actually I am thinking about geforce fx 5200 but it requires 250W power supply, which exceeds my stupid 200W power supply computer.

So does it really matter? Can I buy this card for my computer?

I honetstly couldn't say, never tried it. My guess would be major stability issues...just a guess though.

Other PCI links turned up by google, for yourself and anyone else stuck with a mobo that has no AGP slot.

Beyond 3d has a comparison between the Geforce 4 mx 440 and Fx 5200 Ultra, both of these are the AGP versions though but both cards are availale as PCI versions. http://www.beyond3d.com/previews/nvidia/nv34/

Also a very useful forum thread discussing the best card for someone to get GTA VC to run decently on a PC that has no AGP slot. hmmm it seems the non Ultra fx 5200 has its core and memory clocks set to pretty much the same as the mx 440. http://forum.pcvsconsole.com/viewthread.php?tid=5233

If you're considering the fx5200 make sure it's going to be reasonably faster than your mx card.

You must be kidding if you want to make any comparison between the AI and physics of FIFA and PES3. FIFA is fully scripted, while PES3 it's based on real time algorithms.

BTW, if we had to compare it, if your computer runs FIFA fine, you would need a 5x better cpu to run PES3 with the same frame rates. Obivously, this is not the right way to compare it, but you started...

I totally agree with you mano, but don't forget that the conversion from PS2 isn't easy, regarding the complexity of it's architeture.

BTW, I do understand that people are furious with this conversion, because people need a good football game for PC. I do know that I'm not that furious because I do own a PS2 and a PC, so I'll keep footing on the console. But I'm really happy, because Konami is now looking for the PC owners to and will make other good versions. The other great thing is that now, EA will start to worry and will stop fooling us with pseudo new versions of their game...

But, remember, this PES3 demo isn't official, it's possible that the final version will run smoothly. I don't believe so, but it's possible.
