It was Ricardo's fault. The gk has the responsibility to form the walls, direct the defence, and he should have put one defender guarding the first post. Since he didn't, the least he could do was guard that post himself. It's pretty much his fault. Also, don't forget that terrible 'punch in the air' miss that almost cost us a goal. Baía back ASAP!

Deco didn't play that well, that was obvious. And despite playing just 15 minutes, Miguel proved Paulo Ferreira is the absolute starter (even though he didn't do wonders tonight).

If Pauleta passed the ball more Portugal could have been up 3-0 easy. The first plays was when Pauleta brought 2 defenders to him and then shot wide, where Simao was onsides and open on the center of the box waiting for the pass. But like the game commentators said Pauleta shots when ever he wants it's his instinct.

Maniche wasent called up but that is the point, him and Valente I beleive was parsol,punkt and some others said they had no place, again kids putting names ahead of talent. Valente has done well, he is a good crosser and today got us the key goal witch we did nothing with, his only knock like I said and many see is lack of speed, but he has many abilities and talent to make up for that. Maniche is a victum like Baia. They both should be there.

Ricardo Carvalho damm it should be starting.

It's not a FCP v's SLB it's who si best, and PORTO's back line is the best with Jorge Andrade. So have Ferreira-Carvalho-Andrade-Valente as defenders.

I tought Tiago did ok, Figo to me was great like Jorge Andrade and they are not FCP, it's me saying who I tought was good and not.

To me Simao as usual in the "AA" FLOPED again, he sucked slowed the game, then Ricardo is sh;t at SCP a frangeiro and again today so shaky, he should kiss Andrade for saving his ass twice. Another Miguel he is so crap why does he even play, better yet why was he beside Deco.

Also why si Deco sacraficed like a defender so Manure Rui Costa get's more play? sure he assisted Valente's goal what else did he do after? shoot 3 to the sky and have possibly the worst passes.

The kid probably is older than you. And everyone have the right to have is own opinion. Yes Nuno valente was good today and he deserves now the spot in the starting eleven mainly because Rui Jorge is falling of form in the last SCP games. But the left-back of the defence is clearly our weakest link. Happy now?

About your analysis, it's biased as always. Benfica players are crap, and Porto players when plays like **** is because they were sacrified... Poor Deco, he's talent sacrified, he's making an outstanding season and the devil Scolari sacrified that one "better of Pele" to give more room to the prick of Rui Costa...

(but who assisted Valente in the goal... Rui Costa... ahh let's forget about it because Deco probably would made better and Rui Costa is a prick that don't deserve the spot in the line up...)

he has to be a part of the team.
cassano might be good, but we already have many attackers like him or better. miccoli adds something else when he plays. he can score but he can do so much more when he has the ball, and not just give it to totti and wait for him to return it :rolleyes:

Aight i got back from work and i gotta say Italy were the better team, also that second goal was the fault of the Portugal keeper, he tried to kick the ball and missed:| then it went in cmon, he should have stopped it. But still Italy could have scored more had the forwards not slipped on that one counter attack. Anyways Italy deserved the win, they played very well.

Player by player Italy outclass Portugal in almost every position, apart from a couple of spots in midfield.


Having said that, it all depends on how a team plays on a particular day.

It doesnt matter who has the better players , that statement is for gloryhunters. It s who has a better team. This team is very good technically, the only problem is calling up the right players up to the national team, and not calling up players like Couto just because they play for Lazio. When we could have Meira and Carvalho starting.If scolari can put this team together, we have a good chance at the euro.

Not only does Italy have the better players, they also have the better overall team.

Since the World Cup debacle, they have been winning consistently. Things are starting to fall in place finally.
