Man, Mtilinga is really bad, he hit Cristiano arm with the nose.

Reminds me of the Sevilla - Madrid from a couple of years ago. Here is an elbow to the face of Adriano by Guti, followed by the more brutal elbow to the face of Crespo by Diarra. Neither play was even whistled a foul, much less the red card and long-term suspension that both deserved. Where was the press coverage? Crespo had a plate and 19 screws in his face while Diarra played on. If the same had happened to a Madrid player, it would have been on Marca's front page for five days straight and the aggressor would have been vilified for life.



Oh, and when I complained about this after the match, all of the madridistas in this thread said that Sevilla played dirty because Guti complained about being kicked around.

While Ronaldo is a brilliant individual and can win games alone, he can tend to dominate too much at the cost of the team as a whole, Players like Benzema will be starved of service in the same way Wayne Rooney was at United.

Real Madrid will play better collectively without Ronaldo, but that has to be balanced against the benefit of his individual talent. It's a nice problem to have.

Cristiano influence in collective play is 0. He is "just" a scorer, madrid is way stronger with him (especially at home against Tenerife or Xerez). The diference in riazor were Alonso, granero, guti in the midfield, instead Diarrax2 or gago.

I guess it didn't affect any of his family members (at least not seriously), because he played, there was no news of him considering not to play, and he dedicated his goal to all of the island, not just family ...
