i wasn't asking about the possible score, it's obvious that everybody plays to win..
Our national team under 21 played Ukraine in Kiev last week, they (the guys from Ukraine) were runners up in the last euro championship (lost the final to the Netherlands), and before the game their coach sounded as confident as you did.. We crushed them 3-0, in Kiev.

To be honest, i like your players,i'm a bit of a fan of steaua too. Actually my grand-grandfather was romanian.

hahaha Piturca plays for CSKA ? He's garbage, you don't want him on your team. He couldn't break through the Steaua roster even when his father was managing our team.

actually, they took him a week ago, without paying a lev for him, because their best striker duo Sakaliev and Furtado have been really bad injured, and now i guess they will take whoever they find for free :funny:

i guess they took him, because the other romanians in cska are great. Trica and Petre, you gotta know them, i guess Trica was a nt player wayback, and petre still is... Right?

Trica used to play for Steaua, he was a very good player and he did get some caps for the NT. Petre used to play for Dinamo and I'm not sure if he was called up for the double against Bulgaria and Albania but he usually gets called up, my instincts tell me he wasn't called up this time though.

you know what, i can't say that i know your squad in details, some players like Codrea and more, i heard for the first time a few days ago, but if i were Piturca, i wouldn't call some of your players playing abroad. I mean, i really like Goain for example, and i think, he rarely gets capped. Just because there are older guys from aborad like Contra and whoever, and there's no place for youngsters..
i guess, if i were piturca, i would call mainly players from steaua/dinamo/rapid, and not those "stars" form abroad.. maybe just because that, i like them more..
Even @ the goalkeeper spot- i read, that this Lobont guy was starting.. I guess Rapid's goalkeeper coman is better.. Last year he did great games in the uefa cup.

btw i looked @ one of the fansites of cska, piturca is definitely capped, he's got numer 17 . eh, but got no picture of him.

I'm surprised you know so much about romanian football .
Goian is usually called-up for every match lately, but it's just that he had some back problems.
Codrea is a pretty good midfielder, played for Genoa, Torino and now Palermo. Definetly in the nt's plans.

i actually know a lot not only about romanian football. i'm watching football since 1994, and it's funny though, i can even now recall some of the nt squads in 94

Well no offense adobe but Romania needs the best players to qualify for the EC08, with only the players from the domestic league your not going to make it it's as simple as that. Lobont is for me the best goalkeeper you got right now and not calling up players from abroad is foolish
You definitely need Chivu for instance after all he is the captain, you need Mutu after all look what he did for the team from the moment he got back from suspension.

And you will defninitely need those guys when you play against us and you need a better defense and that means Ogararu, I watched him live this weekend and like I wrote earlier this guy is really impressive and he knows how to defend well, Chivu and Ogararu together would be a stronger line, I hope he will play against Kopenhagen tomorrow, if we win that one it's Champions League for sure.
The first game we won with 1-2 so we're almost there.

heh, man, you're damn right. i didn't say , they shouldn't call ANY players from abroad, but just the pure and simple fact- sometimes, when there are better choices from the domestic league, and even younger and more promissing, why not calling them?? lobont played for ajax, i remember that,
but i guess all the time he was substitue to stekelenburg, right??
and even look @ your squad: van Basten leaves Seedorf, Davids, Makaay and other older guys, and gives a chance for Shaars, the guy whose goals youre counting in your sig (HUntelaar) , van der vaart, and more and more..
Brazil' coach Dunga does the same- who needs Cafu, Roberto Carlos, ronaldo!?!? NOBODY! we need Robinho, Dani Carvalho, Fred..
that's the reason, why i respect so much coaches like dunga and van basten


about romania- i agree, without chivu their defense wouldn't be as good as it is now. he's very solid player, also niculae- the best striker acording to me.i actually prefer him to mutu. mutu might play attacking mitfielder too, but niculae should be the striker.

i'm glad your ajax is going to play in the CL. i like the team mainly because of style of their game. i guess my favs are emanuelson and rosales. i actually don't really like the transfer of stam. i am man united fan too, so you know, i don't like the way he dropped outta the team.

well man, you should consider the fact that iliev, topuzakov and venkov (and maybe more defenders..) were injured, so they weren't capped against wales.

and about this game with scotland: everybody stares at the result, but:
- it was a game, where stoichkov brought 7-8 totally new players
- nobody from berbo, stilian, martin, bojinov, tschavdar or blago played
- it was only one day after the game with the hosts- Japan. a game, that we won 2-1 !! in tokio i guess.

so, i don't realy dare to criticize stoichkov or the team. there's no team in the world, that would play 2 games in 2 days, a team with only 17 players available.. i don't know..
however i'll admit 1-5 was awkward/

Players from the Romanian league who have proved that they can play very well in European competition should definitely make the squad. IMO Radoi (Steaua), Goian (Steaua), Dica (Steaua, currently with 5 goals in 4 matches in Liga I) cannot be left off and should strongly be considered for the starting line-up. Radoi is always there but Goian and Dica sometimes are dropped from the starting line-up for players who play abroad but that's it, they don't really impress, they just play on some random team in Germany or Italy and they get a starting spot because of that. Goian is a rock and he has shown it over and over. I can only remember one error in the last two seasons from him, he's just that good. One of the best young Romanian defenders there is.

that's exactly how i think too.
no doubt about chivu and player like ograru, who impress last two season with steaua, but there are a lot of other opportunities.. Like guys from steaua, rapid..
I heard rapid's defenders were rock too... Badoi, maftei.. But i guess they don't get capped too much...

to be honest, i have a lot of knowledge about dinamo. most of the steaua fans, would probably start to argue, but some of the dinamo guys are good too. i was at the vasil levski stadium last year on levski - dinamo, it was a great game, and there was a left winger, called puhach, or something, he was GREAT. i mean it! and the tamas guy too, but i liked more a guy called mozi, because levski wanted to buy him after that, they even went to watch him at yoru domestic championship, but finally they bought a guy form the hometown of our trainer.

i think, i didn't metioned that levski won 1-0

Actually Lobont has been our nr 1 goalkeeper for at least one season but never mind about that, I understand what you're saying and if that's enough for Romania well it's up to the coach but I guarantee you that it won't be enough when your gonna play against us for the qualificationgames. See, that's the problem with Stoichkov. He brings in new players every damn game. He's always "experimenting" and with his experiments, we didn't qualify for the world cup. He needs to pick his players and stick with them, make them feel like they're a team. And the Japan game, we pretty much got lucky to win that, look for it on youtube and you'll see, we really weren't the better side. I understand if we lost by 2-0 or so to Scotland but 5-1 is a little embarrasing.
