I absolutely have no problems with gay ppl unless they like me and if they do, I just stay away from them (H). I've only met a gay once and he was pretty cool.

Carlitos? :(

Well I dont hate anyone for being gay or bi or whatever, I just find it really annoying if some gay/bi guy is staring at me, I feel like beating him up (6)

And yea, I also hate those obnoxious gay ppl that change the way they talk to be gay-er. Something else I gotta say, well I don't think I'd be able to have a gay friend, I dunno it would be too weird I would be always thinking if he's looking at me or something. Something else that I find very unconfortable is sleeping in the same room with a gay guy, like if a friend of yours is sleeping over and you know he's straight then you know he wont try anything gay, but if it's a gay guy then you never know :S

The problem with gays is that they don't seem to be sure whether they want to be normal or different and slightly special. This thread is a prime example of this. There was no need for Steven to tell us he was gay, none of us cared. Once people started insulting him because of his sexuality, he came back at them with the fact he couldn't help it because gays are born gay and it's not a choice they make and therefore they are perfectly normal. If that is the case, why did he make the thread in the first place? I don't feel the need to make a thread declaring that I'm heterosexual and, as I was also born that way, it is surely just as normal as Steven being homosexual?
Another recent example that comes to mind is the gay pride march that took place in London on Saturday. What is the need for an event like that if gays are happy that they are normal? There would never be a heterosexual march.

It is things like this, when gays set themselves out from straight people, that trouble starts and there is, in my opinion, no need for this to happen. If gays really don't want the bother of people insulting them then maybe they should all start acting more normal otherwise I feel they deserve all the insults they get. People might not like that, but I doubt many could deny that there isn't at least some truth in what I've said.

1st ofall, once again I am bi, not gay

however if you look backover the history of the thread, it is made clear from the very 1st post, that i did not make this thread it tell people that i am bi, as you said, there is no reason for ne to tell people that

however i did include the fact in the 1st post to outline the fcat that once people know that I am not straight i do get treated differently where football is concerned

that was the topic of the thread, not my sexuality orcoming out to people around here

I an quie happyto discuss these thingsm but I do not feel the need to justify my decsiions about me life on a football forum

And trod, my boyfriend is gay, but has as open mind about all sexualities, unlike most of the world, whatever their sexuality may be :(

thats a fair point, and my mates used to feel exactly the same way

however the changes occur when you already know the person and are already good friend with them

would knbowibg that they can be attracted to certain guys really worry you that much?? The fact that you are already friends with them, does not mean that they are more likely to want to do anything with you, so why should it worry you being friends with them

Fine, go through my post and replace everwhere I've referred to you as gay to bi.

I still stand by what I said that the difference in treatment is because gays/bis make too much of an issue over their sexuality.

But by making the thread that is what you did and therefore you surely should have to accept that you may have to face negative comments for doing so.

I'm also quite happy to discuss my heterosexuality but I'm not going to, which is basically the point I was making, you either consider yourself different in which case you take the things that come with being different or you consider yourself normal in which case you shut up. :ewan:

I couldn't be arsed to read the whole thread so I don't know if this has been mentioned, but the 10% gay statistic was derived from Alfred Kinsey's flawed research back in the 50's. Resent studies have shown much lower percentages. It can be kind of a grey area anyway - a lot of people may have had some sort of homosexual experience but not consider themselves homosexual.

I don't understand why anyone would have any ill feeling towards gays/bis in general. I mean personally I would find being gay disgusting, hence me being straight, but why the hell would that mean I hated gays? It's the same as me finding a type of food I find disgusting to eat then hating everyone who eats it. I do find campness pretty annoying, and I wouldn't befriend a stereotypical gay that you see on TV, but that's because they act like idiots. but I had an English teacher who was gay and acted like a normal guy, and a history teacher who was married with kids, but was the most gay guy you could ever meet (maybe he was in denial, or maybe you can be camp and not gay).
