The first 3 are definitely not available. Madrid, City, and Milan respectively. I'll have my top scout Faustino Asprilla take a look at the other 3 though, although I think Tremoulinas might be too old.

Filipe and Tremoulinas should be 2-3 years younger than Vargas so maybe a little too old. There's also Di Maria but he's probably unavailable, Gaston Ramirez, Jose Angel, Dzudzsak, Ilicic, Yarmolenko, Ricardo Alvarez, Joel Obi.

Sorry if the list is too big and overbearing but I did a search of attributes I would value and for them to be young.

Lost the Champions League Final to Real Madrid 2-1. I accidentally had my CBs mixed up and unfortunately Higuain beat my slower CD, Astori, playing in the "cover" position that is usually the faster Papastathopoulos', by a half step for the winner. Gutted, but hope to come back next season even stronger. The 4-4-2 seems to just keep getting better.

I went with Jordi Alba as my Left Mid, if it doesn't work out he can play left back and I'll make another signing.

Worth mentioning that about 14 months ago in this game I started going with "Defensive Positioning" training all the time in the Match Preparation. This might be more important for a flat 4-4-2 than in other formations, but it has turned a good squad into a great one IMO. 0.5 goals per game is pretty damn good I think.

How do you think I had that season with Porto where almost no one scored against me? I do the Team Work for the first couple of months of the season (August and September) and then it's Defensive Positioning all the way. I have it in the maximum workload too, which might give me some injuries but **** it.

I've seen it discussed in the SI forum and I think once you get the bars filled up all the way it doesn't really matter what you do with match preparation. The best would be to put it at very low at that point. Selecting the focus matters while its loading up, it allows a selection of what you prioritize most important.

Well, obviously if the bar is all the way up it's complete, but it's worked for me so far, I'm not going to change it. Call it FM stubbornness.

Uhm, if you have match preparation at high, your players will improve MUCH less than if it's on low, just look at the training workload percentages. I always do very high during preseason or if I'm teaching a new formation and lower it as per my assman's recomendations until it's complete and then it's very low just to maintain match preparation. No specific training when on very high, and attacking movement when very low.

This. I have it on low. I have found that on "very low" my team loses familiarity with the tactic. But the more match prep you have the less training your players do, and if you keep it on very high, your players will rarely improve from training at all.

In my experience they lose familiarity on None, not on Very Low. The players seem to think Very Low is little, although, I'd rather the pplayers improve as much as they can, so Very Low it is.

I think when I'm through with this game I might start up a "You Don't Win Anything With Kids" challenge with Bilbao. With Llorente, Muniain, Martinez, and Lopez they probably have the best young squad in the decade plus I've been playing CM/FM. And they get awesome youth too. Could be a fun challenge, but just have to hope my Basques stay true to real life and put the club over everything else, even further individual professional success.

They're a good challenge but don't expect to rape everyone. In the future you will probably get a few good players with good La Liga skills but you might not have beasts at every position (like how every FM game finally ends up). However, Llorente, Muniain and Martinez seem awesome.

Yeah, I don't expect to make them the best club in the world, just think it would be an interesting challenge. I've been thinking about it and figure I should probably have a 4-4-2, and 4-3-3, and a 5-3-2 trained to fluid because I can't control the players I get. Sometimes I won't have wingers, sometimes I'll only have 1 forward, etc.

Not sure if you remember Urko Pardo, the Basque phenom I posted a picture of a few pages back, well Bilbao didn't value him very highly, or are having some financial problems because

that's on a Bosman!!!!!

Should be some compensation, but my transfer center says 0.

Do the mental stats go up as they grow? I suck at scouting young talent. I'll see some with great physical stats but **** for mental and I end up not buying despite showing good potential.

Yes they are supposed to. With such great technical stats I can focus a lot of his training on stuff like "tactics" as well which should help.

So after winning Serie A Manager of the Year twice in a row, winning the Scudetto twice in a row, and making a run to the CL Final last year you'd think I would be a respected manager around Italy. Well, say hello to the foreigner who just took over Milan

I'm 13 points ahead of them!!! I never do this, in fact I probably speak to the press once a year on average when unveiling a big transfer, but I just trashed him in the media. Said I disagree with how he handles players, don't get along with him personally, and that Milan aren't contenders.

So I hadn't scouted this guy at all, in fact I had just started to begin protracted negotiations with Rennais for Yann M'Vila which would have cost somewhere around 35-40m or more. Then I get a phone call from an agent telling me about his young client, and the visible attributes look okay. I scout him. I sign him for 1m essentially the next day.

Holy ****. Cancelled the offer for M'Vila the next day.
