oh! you have windows xp? because maybe thats the problem, remember that the fifafx world cup patch also had problems with xp so I think thats the problem:confused:

I'll ask ariel about it and maybe he can creat a fix for XP users

come on, why dont you try, I already give you a step by step way to the download!
go to downloads, then to 2002(obviusly), then to leagues and finally to world cup 2002 and thats it! see, not that hard.:crazyboy:

yes it does as Hakeem says but it only uses the modified one whilst u r playing with World Cup enabled!
This means when WC isnt enabled your FIFA rnus exactly how it always has, with or without EA update, and your own edits etc!
What a master stroke by Ariel!

Wow... Very well Ariel.... i asked that because i had installed nickculmban's v1.35 game play update... and im not very happy with the patch, because i use a non-analog joystick and i having troubles with the shot targets...

Then... i've just installed... i will restart and test this new patch! GL!

ariel put an ini.big file in the patch but he did not put that much effort in it, so you can just use any gameplay update you want!
he worked hard for the other things of the patch

I've just restarted again, and try again... but World CUp 2002 Doesn't on my PC...


Fifa 2002 crashed before starts the first screen... i run using the WC Icon and i try with all options, radar, challenger, no radar, no challenger, argentina, brasil etc... but i cant.. I will continue triying... WHo can play the patch?

I have Windows XP Home Edition and the patch works. However it didn't the first time I installed it. I reinstalled fifa and it worked correctly.

Can you tell us more details? Any error messages?

****... i cant reinstall Fifa again because i have a ripped version.. maybe because that the patch didnt workme.... tomorrow i will buy a copy version of fifa 2002 (a friend will give me his CD-ROM to play Fifa 2002 and the next WC).

But, dont worry i had backup the fifa before install the patch so, i will continue playing defauilt fifa until i get one cd...

I'm just getting in on the end of this...but I want to install nick club man's gameplay 1.36 in the patch...how do I do that? Sorry if this has been asked before. Otherwise, this is a beautiful patch so far!

I think thats the problem, its a ripped version, but you'll get the cd and you'll finally enjoy the patch.

And mutiger, I think that to install the gameplay patch you just have to do it like you would normally do it, replace the ini.big file and thats it

Have you guys noticed that players without first names (Rivaldo, Sa Pinto, etc.) have the first name of DDavid. I'm just wondering why that is. I thought the groups would be real however they are just like in game when you create a tournament, that's dissapointing. Also, what new faces were added by parts 10 and 11?

Visually, however the patch is absolutly amazing, the national anthems blew me away, Fantastic. This patch really revolutionizes the art of editing EA games.:mrpimp:

Thanks Renob, and I also thougth that tha groups will be the original ones andf not random ones, but ariel sayd that that would have add 10mb at least to the patch, and also more time so...

but its still the best patch ever!!!

AWESOME patch.. thx guys.. your work is much appreciated ;)

The only problem atm i seem to be having is when i attempt to play it at a resolution above 640x480 it drops back to the desktop after playing the national anthyms, but playing at 640x480 it appears to run fine :confused:

Either way great patch.. the jerseys r detailed, sharp and accurate, the national anthyms r cool and the added cinematics r brilliant :)

Running it on xp.. reinstalled the original Fifa 2002 then applied the patch.. rebooted and it worked. Dont know if the resolution thing is xp related or not though.

SIP: I have WinXP and played the patch in a 800x600 resolution and it worked ok.
Gold Archangel: can you please post your erorr message? I didn't found it in the last posts
RenoB: That's because Ariel made the patch use different files and hexedited the files that had the league names, player names, team formations... so he must have double typed certain letters I suppose
mutiger: I will ask Ariel right away because I would also prefer another gameplay patch.
Sembei: The patch should work with your original or backup Fifa 2002 CD.
