World Cup help needed

Hey guys...
Seems to be a great patch so far...but I have a few things I need to clear up. First of all...I don't hear the national anthems in the pregame screens...only Chariots of Fire. The game also says I'm playing the generic patch...I want all the bells and whistles activated. I clicked the "Enable Challenges" box...and when I went into the game...I couldn't even get the World Cup to come up in tournaments. In my main FIFA 2002 file, I see a folder called "wc teams". It looks like it has the rosters...songs...grafix, etc. in there...does that need to be placed anywhere? Because when I go into the start screen...I cannot select any of the teams. I still think this patch is going to be awesome...I'd just like to use it the right way.

where am i wrong?

my OS is win98SE and i reinstall my fifa2002 again and again..

u only get national anthems if u choose a team at the start up screen(before FIFA loads).
Then your teams national anthem plays.
If u play generic World Cup, u will get Chariots of Fire.
I was thinking, what about having Eye of The Tiger, as an alternative for some intro cinematics rather then Chariots of Fire for all of them??

WAIT U RNT RUNNING THE WORLD CUP EDITION ICON FROM YOUR DESKTOP, UR RUNNING FIFA 2002!!!
Once u do run World Cup from your desktop(by the way plz read readmes before posts like this)u only get national anthems if u choose a team at the start up screen(before FIFA loads).
Then your teams national anthem plays.
If u play generic World Cup, u will get Chariots of Fire.
I was thinking, what about having Eye of The Tiger, as an alternative for some intro cinematics rather then Chariots of Fire for all of them??

RenoB: That's because Ariel made the patch use different files and hexedited the files that had the league names, player names, team formations... so he must have double typed certain letters I suppose
mutiger: I will ask Ariel right away because I would also prefer another gameplay patch.
Sembei: The patch should work with your original or backup Fifa 2002 CD.

I am using the icon on the desktop...just like it says. The choices screen comes up...and it says I am using the generic patch...I click all three enables on the right side...but for some reason, I can't get the teams to light up...and it always says..."you're playing the generic patch...don't know what's up...but will keep trying. Anyone else with ideas. I go to the FIFA 2002 main page...and the folders for the game are all there...
Nice try Skip...but you have any other ideas?

Your right dude it does work in 800x600

I basically only tried it in 640x480 and 1280x1024 initially.

I now tried all the resolutions step by step and they all appear to work upto 1024x768.. anything i try beyond that drops back to the desktop after the national anthyms. tried 1280x1024 and it dropped.. but when trying the same resolution running Fifa 2002 normally it works at that res.. weird.

Just that i got a 21" monitor and anything lower than 1280x1024 looks blocky.. anyway doesnt really matter.. GREAT patch

One more group of questions...

Okay team...
Here's the deal...I select the team from the main screen. Get the message...England folder loaded...or smething along those lines. I start the game...go to the Game modes...and still can't find the World Cup. I play a friendly with England...and I get their anthem before the game starts...cool! But...still no world cup. I then go back to the main screen, and I enable the challenges, select the Group of Death challenge. Screen tells me the instructions. I start the game through the soccer ball on the main screen...I go into game modes...and there's nothing in the "Load and Save" except for the "Options". Obviously, something ain't connecting. Last night when I loaded the game, I was able to get the World Cup to come up in tournaments. The only thing I have done differently today is load a game play patch into the data/cmn folder. It is working in the patch...so...what do you guys think is up?
I am computer impaired...but I am getting better. Hope you have enough details. I do really love the patch...and if I can't get the World Cup to come up in game modes, I'll just go ahead and create one in the Creation Center.

I think that you only have to have Fifa Full Version installed... You can play using a non-cd crack, but the patch doesn't work with ripped fifa 2002 version (i download the mine, 120 Mb from Morpheus or Kazaa)

you have to go to game modes, and there you'll find: friendly, tournament, etc. and one of those options is world cup 2002!

1-reinstaled fifa 2002 ( i have the original no copies)
2-instaled the patch
3-run the logo of the wolrdcup in my desktop
4-"an error happened in Fifa 2002.exe this program is closed"


this happens everytime i try to use the patch
i try in windows 98 and xp

I think that is the first part of the patch that is giving some people problems.
We'll upload a new first part to try if thats the problem.
But I really dont understand why it works for same people and it doesn't for others. its really weird

I found out that if you haven't got the cd in the cdrom, the patch wont work, so to the people who has a ripped fifa2002, bad news
