I would love him, always been a big fan (I drafted him), but all the rumour mills have him going to City and with the FFP sanctions they will be looking for a player without a transfer fee.

There's still a chance it might change but yeah, Schwarzer, Cole, Eto'o, Hilario and Lamps released. Gonna wait for better confirmation.

Hey, Ferreira is a 2-time Champions League winner; 2-time UEFA Cup/Europa League winner; Portuguese league, cup, supercup champion and treble winner; English league, cup, supercup and league cup champion; EURO runner up; UEFA team of the year player.

And he did it all being shit, so try to beat that! (H)

A Lampardless Chelsea would be strange. I think they should have kept him as a backup. His experience would help. That's how Chelsea treats their legends. Same story with Drogba.

He should come back from retirement to replace one of the Chelsea's sorry strikers. Or be Costa's backup as striker if he does come.

Where's Rio's new contrct? Drogba choose to leave though.

Rio or Vidic are greats but Giggs, Scholes, Neville would be what I would call United legends. Terry, Drogba and Lampard are comparable to them as Chelsea legends.

Lampard also has still a lot in him. Rio is finished and Vidic was allowed to leave by Team Moyes, not Man Utd.

Rio was at United 4 years longer than Drogba at Chelsea and only 1 year less than Lampard. Vidic was at United as long as Drogba was at Chelsea.

Team Moyes is still United, they're the ones who hired him.

Bullshit - a decent, sensible club allows a player to move on with legend status in tact whilst they are still loved for their work on the pitch rather than starting to cause problems with their disruptive presence off it. It is embarrassing for the player and bad for the club to retain players past their sell by date for sense of nostalgia. Both Lamps and Drogba will have a post playing career role with Chelsea if they ever want it.
