Hi there. I'll post up a a screenie soon.

I have won the Premiership with United, by 14 points. Arsenal came in second. Unfortunately though,the squad does not seem to have the depth to beat quality European opposition as we faultered against Roma in the Quarter Finals of the Champion's League, going down 0-4 on aggregate.

We lost the Fa Cup against Liverpool, in a very close 2-1 defeat but managed to regain our composure to clinch the League Cup against lowly West Ham.
Here is a simmary:

Seems like you have a good team - need to work on the CL though.

Looks good and with not many new signings you probably have quite a lot of money to spend.

I would recommed you make one big money signing (good for appeasing the fans).

Michalis Konstantinou would be a good addition up front and Marc van Bommel would be good aswell.

Selakovic and Semak are a good pair of cheap AMs as is Kallstrom.

Signing Sami Hyypis from Liverpool may be a good idea aswell.

How much cash have you got?

Here are some more players you may want to checkout: Palermo, Domoraud, Chiotis, Tony Silva, Ameobi, Forsell, Webber, Pugh, Chun-Soo, Said, Kotylo, Steven Reid etc etc.

Any positions in particular that you're weak in?

Ask the board for more transfer funds, you have a latge balance but not much funds, you have been pretty successful so they may reciprocate. Also, that team could have a good defender or two.

Try Fabio Rustico of Atalanta.

Defenders: Hofland, Okoronkwo, and what Sir_Didier_Drogba said.

BTW, van Bommel can play DM, MC and AM all very well.;)

I am VERY desperate to improve the squad..as I lost several key players like Lauren Robert and Gary Neville to the release clause.:(..can someone explain this system to me..as I dont quite understand it. Why can't I reject bids from teams that want to buy my player, and how do I prevent this from happening?

A release clause is decided with the contract. There are four types: Minimum Fee Release Clause (if another team make a bid of this or higher than you have to accept), Manager Job Release Clause (If the player is offered a manager position you have to let him go), Relegation Release Clause (If you get relegated and a team make a bid above or equal to this clause you have to accept) and Non Promotion Release Clause (If you fail to achieve promotion and the above occurs).

To alter clauses when offering contracts, simply go to the clauses section of the offer contract screen:

Thanks for the explanation. I understand it now. :)

I have just finished my latest season with Man Utd, and we won the following:

1)Premiership
2)UEFA Champion's League (finally!! a win thru penalties against Roma, after a 1-1 scoreline)
3)League Cup

I got knocked out of the Fa Cup by Burnly.:rolleyes: lol
and they were the eventual winners though.

You guys would be amazed with what my shallow squad achieved for me! I'll post a screenshot later. :)

Guys, what do ya think? (see below)
Delaye was my most expansive buy and Ameobi proved a useful addition scoring the 89th min equaliser in the pulsating CL final against Roma.

Mooniaruck (previously in reserve team) is a great player when Cole is injured...he usually gets better after 2 seasons or so.

Amanatidis from Olympiokos was simply brilliant in central defence...and he scored 7 goals this season!! Not bad for a defender eh? :)

Djordjic was also another pleasant surprise. I noticed his abilities after fielding him for a CL game in the group stages that was not relevant, since we already qualified ....and he was very sharp in left midfield and a great playmaker, espescially alongside a pacey midfielder like Giggs.

I did not make any major buys for star players like Ronaldo and Zidane, which I would probably do get the fan's support. ;)

IM always impressed when people do such great things with small squads. Very impressive. Ameobi is great in England, not so great in the continent. Veru good side you have, i bet you have a very lot of money to spend?

Yup, I have a considerable amount of transfer funds available, I tried asking for more but got rejected by the board. Anyway, I think it is enough to get someone like Ronaldo or Shevchenko over. I sold Veron a few months before the end of the season, so that really increased the inflow of funds.
