lee didn't play that well. he got 2/46 but one of his wickets was a cheap one when the indians we're slogging and he hit one decent shot while he was batting. he is one of my favourite players and i think he's a good player, it's just i wouldnt classify what he did as a good game. my definition of a good game would be what yuvraj, laxman and gilchrist did.

is that good for a mcgrath or a gillespie? the problem with lee is that he's not a world class bowler. he is constanly getting hit for 5 to 5.5, maybe even 6 an over every game. that for me doesn't warrant a place in the australian team. somebody like brad williams or maybe even nathan bracken, who get 4 an over taken off them, should be replacing lee in the team. he gets cheap wickets, like yesterday, when he bowled yuvraj in the final overs of the indian innings. he also celebrated it alot as well, is it really that much of an achievment getting a batsman out on the 3rd or 4th last ball of an innings? i say give brett lee one more game to prove himslef. if he doesnt play well against zimbabwe, then he should be dropped to the nsw team and have to show selectors that he can take wickets at state level. if he can't do that then he doesn't deserve a place in the australian team.

Katich should stay in the team, he has been in stellar form.


Lee is finally doing something... with the bat.










Haddin will replace Gilly. I would have preferred Campbell, he did well last time he played, and although he has not been in the best form, he might attract some extra people to the game.

Although, should give Haddin, he would be the most likely replacement of Gilchrist, so it would be wise to test him out.

Secombe has been in good form. Getting runs in domestic cricket and he was in the Australian A team. Though he isnt an opener. Katich went out yesterday to a poor shot. Maybe when hayden comes back Katich should go into martyns position.

Yeh I agree with Katich goin gin there although i reckon we need a anchor player there someone that can hold the innings together say if we lose 2 or 3 quick wickets which has been happening quite regulariy

But to his defence the ball was a very good ball.

Also the ball that bevan went out on was also good because it moved a mile. Bevan had the right to try and play it on the legside and it hit off stump. I still think the pitch was crappy because of all the rain the groundsman let on.

Why?

We have beaten them 2-1 in this VB series.....drew with them in the tests beat them in the TVS cup and beat them in the world cup final.
