That could work but if we move Gio to midfield we'd need a backup for Silvinho then.Either way we need a new player.
I prefer to let Gio play LB and have Silvinho as his sub and just get a DM.

I don't like the idea of Gio playing in the Davids role ... I would prefer Puyol in that place. I think he could do well.

Besides it would be easier to sign 1 or 2 good DC than a good DM.

Milito could already be on his way to Camp Nou ... not sure yet.

I would never move Puyol to the midfield. The midfield is important but we won't get a defender as good as Puyol. That would be a desperate move.

I'd love that Milito comes. With a better team maybe we don't need a DM like Davids. I think we need a DM to cover the spot of Motta, or a CB, then Marquez could play there.

Puyol couldn't play in midfield.I'd prefer both him and Marquez in defense.
Gio is a better midfielder than Marquez and I think that with Deco ,someone like Davids is not that neccessary because we have more attacking power.Plus we have Giuly who is better than Garcia.
With the attack much stronger ,the Davids-type midfielders won't really be needed.

The opponents will worry more about how to defend against us than how to break our midfield.

the only thing is that Gio is too soft, Marquez has more phisical presence, that's wahy i think he fits perfect in the DM position, anyway i think he is better than Oleguer.

You guys shoud check Copa America Marquez is having an awesome tournament Saviola couldnt do anything against him yesteday and on wednesday he played pretty well as DM (i agree he playes better in the defence)

heh if you think about it that's really similar to what Real Madrid fans said last season

Now in the squad only Puyol could do what Davids did because he has that 'killer instinct'. Gio better stay as LB.. and Marquez could play in front of the defense like Motta, doing the Cocu role but never the Davids role.

Davids left, it's the time to find other tactic because there aren't more players with his characteristics. I wouldn't move anybody, if they can't sign a good DM then they should find other way to play. The tactic is not perfect, we lost 2 games of the last 3. The last season the team depended of a couple of players. I prefer a complete team and a midfield that can hold the ball and control the match instead of a team that scores a goal and then defend the result.

Now with Deco ,Larsson and Giuly ,Rijkaard has to change the tactic.I think he should come up with a tactic so that both Saviola and Larsson can play.It's a shame to have one of them sit on the bench.

Virgo - yeah ,I thought that too for a second but then again ,we have a better defense and a better bench than they had last season.

I'm guessing our sixth will be an attacker.

Also ,does anybody know if signing Ballack is still an option since Laporta didn't deny it a few days ago.I hope they gave up on him.
