I played basketball when I was young and I distinctly remember how we were told to aim for the square to make it easier to score. Watching the NBA, it's clear that players are aiming for the hoop itself. Is there a reason for that? Would the former be easier to disrupt and stop the shot between the board and ring?
It's the same in Finals series in our sports here - except for the Grand Final.
Higher qualified teams get the home ground advantage until the Grand Final generally In AFL and NRL (our two main football codes) and in the A League they get it throughout - including the Grand Final.
It is reward for finishing higher. Makes complete sense to me. Otherwise you get a finals series where the regular season counts for nothing and you're basically starting from scratch.
How often are all 7 games played anyway?

The expectation for the Clippers this year is nothing less than a Championship. Our bench is that deep. With the additions of Lance Stephenson, Paul Pierce, Josh Smith, and DeAndre Jordan resigning, the Clippers are definite NBA title contenders. We also added some other small pieces to the puzzle, Wesley Johnson, Pablo Prigioni, Cole Aldrich and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute.
They should just hand us the title and avoid these beat downs were about to hand out.

So Steph Curry and the Warriors are still really, REALLY good. The Clippers had'em in their sights and couldn't close them out.

Last night the Clippers lost to the Warriors, again. This time they managed to blow a 23-point lead while letting the Warriors finish out the game on a 22 to 5 run.
Golden State has a real good shot at breaking the Bulls' mark of the 72 and 10 season record. They're going for their 14th win in a row to start out the season against the Bulls right now. 2 more wins and they set the all time undefeated record to start out the season. The Warriors are goddamn near invincible.
