Sorry, but you're not using my kits in this patch - I am not giving permission.

OK, I'm going to expect sh*t, but my kits will only ever be on Soccered and no other site...

Nothing specifically yet, since we havent decided what type of patch we want to make. When we decide(and I mean "we" its got to be a group decision-including EVERYONE that wants to be involved). All we would want u to make/supply for the patch is 32bit kits.

JJ man, im dissapointed to hear that, I wont have a go at u cos i respect ur decision, but really I think that if we're going to do it as a community it should be done, as a community. The ktis wouldnt have to be your CURRENT kits, but new ones made just for that patch. Anyway as I said, even if u rnt involved soccered will be quite welcome to host the patch. And as i also said, we will put in a disclaimer that says that distributing the patch in parts is illegal, as it isnt freeware in parts, only as a whole patch.
So u could release the kits out of the patch personally on Soccered, and releasen them as part of the patch aswell.
Anyway its up to u, I just really think we all need to do something "as a community", and make it something Big.

Cheers

yeah, that sounds like a bgi patch, but the point is, its still not "the biggest".
Their are things that it didnt include, adn its still very exclusive, in that its only hosted at one site etc...
The plan is that this patch will bring together all the new aspects of FIFA, and give the user the ability to turn them all on and off etc, with a GUI like the one for SA's World Cup patch...
I still think people are missing the point, Im not planning a Big patch, im planning The Biggest Patch. 32bit kits, OR #GK kits will be included, stadiums, faces, Possibly cinematics, SMS..etc..

I hope u can c the differences...
Plz no offence is meant to ur patch, it sounds good..;)

Hey Great idea! I would like to be in the project. I always try to share my humble knowledge (many people don´t)... BTW The NeoGF tool will be avaible for all face makers around very soon.

And I wat to say thanks to greymana for share his info about the RAV files format with me.

what are the theme that this patch is going at? Is it a Champions' League, a WC? International? Club?

If you're giving a go at EVERY SINGLE thing, i have one word for you.

Might as well create a whole new Footy game and compete with EA. Or perhaps get all the gfx artists and programmers at EA to get lost :D

Fifa Mega Patch

Brilliant idea mate, sounds like i could be an amazing patch!!:D

I would be more than willing to help out with the patch, and could do some of the kits, and also the rosters for some of the teams, especially the english teams.

Lets hope this patch gets off the ground because we could make it the patch of all patches.

yeah, i understand what ur saying, i didnt explain myself very well. What i meant was not change every single thing, but use all the editing knowledge we currently have, and bring it together in one big patch.

We havent decided what we want to make the patch based on. We will leave it up to everyone, once we find out whos in and whos out... But yj, we all know how good a stadium maker u r, and i dont want to sound like im sucking up, but we could really do with ur help. How can this be the biggest patch, if the best patch makers arent involved?
We need EVERYONE that has experience in making QUALITY downloads and patches for FIFA...
So r u in or not yj??

I think it should be a total patch, whatever poeple can make goes straight in there, whatever it is, it would be even bigger if we included a modified version of fifafx the would automatically lauch the game without the user seeing the fifafx part, which would help alot of people.

Im getting broadband in 14 days so i can upload and download anything you need easily, and also you can use fifaengland to post news and send me updates via our submit news section for anyone.

hmmmm, well ive decided that im out..u guys can keep making it if u want, but it will never be the biggest. JJ, and yj, have proven exactly what i thought, and that is that they are after more personal glory than trying to do some REAL good for the community.

I cant see the point in just making another patch, which will turn out no bigger OR better than anything before it. I have said before I have stopped making kits, and I was only going to make them again if this was going to be a huge patch, but im not going to spend my time doing something that wont be.

Oh yeah steve about the FX thing, i was plannign to do it without FX, so ppl didnt have to download anything but the patch. It was going to be done like the SA World Cup patch, which in essence is done the same as FX but the patch does it all(ie. backs up ur old files, and installs the ones u want to use). This meant it would personalise everything like FIFA FX does, but it would be in a much easier to use GUI. Anyway i s'pose its up to u now how u do it, if u want to continue it.

well you have no right to criticize me.

it is my own decision and i don't plan to do anymore patches for FIFA 2002 anymore. OT is my last patch and then i'll bid goodbye.

So i'm not going to stay and do somthing for this "biggest patch ever" which i think will be very hard to produce. it is not impossible but near impossible.

i wouldn't say more because creating and releasing a big patch with so many people involved is going to take alot of effort and time.

i hope you understand.

What the hell are you on sKIp_E??

A couple numbers: 9 months, that is how long it took YJ to finish the best Stadia ever. He has spent his time on it so he can decide, where and how it is used. 900 Kits That is how many Kits JJ has made with his NHL textures. If each one took 30 minutes that is 450 hours of work at least. Again he can choose to use the kits how he pleases.

What gets me mad as a Fifa Fan is how you say YJ and JJ are spoling the community by not sharing. They each put in at least 1000 hours of their free time into this community.

By the way, JJ's kits are part of his own patch, why would he degrade his own patch by giving them to you. You of all people should not be complaining about JJ not giving his kits away, was it just last month you were insulting him?

To the fifa fans, if you want JJ's or YJ's stuff head to www.soccered.com the only place the creators want to see their files.

sKIp_E if making masterpieces spoils the community then I guess you just nuked it.

Case Closed, If JJ and YJ want to make a patch then let them do it.

Steve the Broadband is not the issue. I have had 1152 KB ADSL for some time and that doesn''t mean I can create massive patches.

Servers cost money, you may get free hosting but if your hosts figure out what you are doing then they will shut you down.

Think about it this way, if the patch was 50 GB and in a day 1000 people downloaded the patch that would be 50,000 MB of bandwidth or 50GB.

On the soccered ultra-fast server every GB of bandwidth over the given is a quid. So to host the patch for one day would cost £50!

Imagine it was possible and 20,000 people downloaded it , the cost would be £1000!

An alternative would be putting it on the server of a gaming FTP but if it is that big and lots of people are downloading you will be lucky to get 5K Sec on ADSL and 1K sec on modem.

Who is going to download it.

The best way is to make individual files so people can pick and choose.

Yes, thats a very good point which I forgot. Our Fifatology 1.0 patch had a size of 40 MB and it was only for the german bundesliga. I guess the patch will have a size between 100 MB and 200 MB. And don't think that we used only zip compression - we used ACE and as an addition we cloned some files at the installation. Unpacked the patch was about 240 MB big. As Schmeichel wrote it may be very hard to get a server for this file - and think about the many complains that the servers are down or unaccessable.

For the player which has a DSL / T1 / T3 / cable connection it's fantastic to leech down one big file, install it an voila... a much better Fifa :)

But if you split it up in parts such as "base", "International", "germany", "france" and so on it can work, but these would only sligthly modified parts from the exisiting patches.
