The Biggest Patch EVER!

Rob hit the nail on the head twice with his post...

First of all the main reason why I would not allow use of my kits is because they were purposely made for my own patch in the first place, and therefore I don't see fit for them to be used in a patch made by someone else, especially as I have been ripped off too many times by people in the past including my stuff without permission and not giving as much as a credit either. Secondly I still haven't forgotten the number of times sKIp_E has tried to tell me where to get off as far as kitmaking was concerned, so I thought my decision to do a "touché" was a good way to get even.

Finally I know for a fact that a "world's biggest patch" idea is a waste of time, mainly because it needed an involvement of several people in the scene, thus the organisation of which would be a total shambles. And at the end of the day, if the patch is huge where is it going to be hosted?

People like Yj and myself would rather keep our works of art on our own site so that it would make people come over and visit to give us more hits, which is the whole idea...

As far as the sharing things is concerned, there are many people in this scene who never share things, so don't go singling us two out just because we refused permission to use our stuff.

I like the idea of a big-patch, although I know this will never be real.

I guess with all available new divisions,stadiums, sounds etc. it will be at least 400-500 MB PACKED !



Heres another idea:

Dimitris (ECP) came with it last year, when he thought about a peer2peer -agent (like BearShare or Kazaa).

Although I didnt gave this a big chance last year, Im thinkin very positiv about it this year, because servers are more and more expensive and often down.

Imagine:
A small program where you can loggin to share all the Fifastuff with other gamers fully automatic.
It should have a password-protection that only allows editors to bring new Patches into this community (to prevent Warez and Virusses)

You loggin and will be informed about all NEW kits and Patches fully automatic. Just by clicking a button the files will be downloaded and installed while the Editors Homepage pops-up.
All commentarys would be available as members have difficult language installations.

As there are always members of this worldwide Community online, the downloads would be fast and without delay.

No expensive servers, no advertising no spyware.


If EA Sports would be smart, they would support it, but unfortunately there seems to be an eminent lack of fantasy in Canada.

The ONLY time I have ever criticised any of ur kits, is that one Manchester one, which u have explained, and i thought u were now over. I ASKED why u put the crsts on the hjfr, u explained, i accepted. Get over it. I asked a question, and criticised one kit, which really wasnt that good, but as u said, it was an old version. How was i supose to know. I didnt even say this kit was urs at the time.

Trust me, i could find an FTP to host it. Everyone could have just pointed their links to it. I cant say much, new rules on these boards.

I tell u what gives me the ****s. U and others complain that EA are ****, cos WC isnt a good enough improvement over FIFA, and that WC doesnt have this or that etc. U claim EA are only in it for the money, meanwhile, u seem to think that making something as a community is a bad idea. Now where do u lie on this issue..Oh wait i see, on one side of the fence, when it suits, u but on the other, when that suits u...U r contradicting yourself..

When i mentioned u guys' names it was because u were the ones that replied.Schmeichel i understand that JJ and YJ have put lots into the community, but in a true community u put in, without expecting to get anything more back then personal satisfaction. What im saying is these guys do it to get something else out, they arent in it "for the good of the game". I know there are others too, but u guys were the ones that publicly said u wouldnt be involved, and as much as i respect u for publicly expressing your opinions on the thread, i also think that u did it to make a point.

Schmeichel i have alot of respect for u, because u seem to back up ur claims with facts, and u dont just go off ur brain like JJ, and yj often seem to, but u said "By the way, JJ's kits are part of his own patch, why would he degrade his own patch by giving them to you. You of all people should not be complaining about JJ not giving his kits away, was it just last month you were insulting him? " can u please give me exact links here?
As i said the only time i said anything about him, or his kits, was when he said something to me, OR when the kit wasnt very good. In which case, i didnt mention who's it was, i just said to the guy who took the screenshot, that the could find a better kit, and i also mentioned that it looked like a soccered one. I was right in BOTH instances, as JJ said himself, it was an early version of his kit, which is why it didnt look very good.

I've tried ignoring the situation for a while but it was impossible, because you kept going on and on to the point where I just about had enough. I stated that I would not allow you to use my kits in your big patch idea because I had not forgotten the treatment you had given me previously, and also due to the fact that my kits will only be available from the site I do work for. But you had a childish tantrum and started giving me earache and having sly digs like "Since JJ hasnt replied yet to say what is so bad with my kits (as he obviously thinks something is, i thought id better bump this."... trying to instigate a fight huh?

I know you have a grudge and that don't bother me, and as for the criticism crap I've not took the blindest bit of notice because of the fact that you're in no position to tell me what I should do, and the fact that other people who have downloaded my kits have given me good feedback, so why should I change just because you hate it. Arrogant perfectionists like yourself I can't bide and neither can many others.

Im not upset because u dont allow ur kits in the patch. Im over that. The point is that u CONTINUALLY say that i bag ur kits,when I DONT! I have said something about them ONCE! U explained urself, and i said i understand that!

Look yj, and JJ, I am sorry for singling u out, and U HAVE done heaps of good for the community, HOWEVER, I still hold by what I say. I think the problem lies in what we think a communtiy is. I think u guys think that enhancing the community is simply makin good patches. I think it is, bringing the comminty together, combining our knowledge, and together doing things we couldnt do alone. This is why I think that by not being part of this patch it is bad for the community. However I think ull also find I said that I respect ur decisions, but am dissapointed. Finally I said that it seems I was right in assuming u make patches not to make the community better (whether it does this or not is irrelevent, and it may often do so), but u make patches for personal glory.
Anyway I hope my opinions are now clear. JJ could u PLEASE tell me where U stand on these issues...
