So, last gameday. Main questions are who gets the automatic relegation spot between HSV and Nurenberg (HSV currently drawing away to Mainz and Nurenberg losing to Schalke away) and who gets the last CL spot (Leverkusen had it in their hands but are currently losing to Bremen meaning they need 2 goals to clinch it since Wolfsburg have just scored against Gladbach).

Scratch that, Leverkusen have just scored. If they score one more goal, they get the 4th spot. If they don't and Wolfsburg hold on, Wolfsburg get it. If Gladbach win they would get it only if Leverkusen lose.

Schalke have scored again, so Nurenberg are probably going down, and HSV will go to the relegation play-off. Schalke guarantee a group stage CL spot with the win.

Leverkusen go ahead, meaning they will get the last CL spot if things stay this way. Wolfsburg respond by Perisic hitting all 3 posts with his shot.

So, Pizarro scores a last minute goal to give Bayern a win to close out the season. 2nd place Dortmund win 4-0. Schalke win 4-1 to clinch 3rd and Leverkusen turn it around against Bremen to get the 4th spot. Wolfsburg beat Gladbach 3-1 to get get 5th, Gladbach are 6th. HSV lose to 7th place Mainz but still get the play-off spot because Hoffenheim beat Braunschweig 3-1 and Nurenberg lost to Schalke. Basically, everyone wound up at the same place they were before today's match. The only real change was Lewy scoring twice to make sure he wins top scorer.

In the midtable battles Hahn scored so Augsburg beat Frankfurt 2-1 and Hannover beat Freiburg 3-2. So yeah, the only change today was Hannover going from 11th to 10th with Berlin going the other way.

Yep, other than Gladbach, everyone at the top half of the table won, whereas everyone at the bottom lost.

All in all, last year's Bayern scored 4 goals more, conceded 5 less and got 1 more point than this year. So not much difference. Except they won the CL, of course.

Bayern's title celebration right now is pretty cool. They had a child wearing the kit from every year they won the title.

I think the Bundesliga will do better in Europe next year. Wolfsburg and Gladbach are better than Freiburg and Frankfurt, who way overachieved and Schalke have improved, too. Dortmund and Leverkusen will need to make some improvements, but overall they should do fine.

Schalke are sleeping giants right now. They have so many top youth players it's almost unfair for the other teams. Meyer, Draxler, Goretzka, Matip, Papadopoulos, Kolašinac, Ayhan.

I just remembered they signed Giefer (one of the best keepers in last year's Bundesliga) from Fortuna Dusseldorf so they will finally have a reliable keeper for the next decade, as well. If Dortmund don't make the right moves Schalke will wind up overtaking them.

Giefer was overrated. He was good in the first half of last year, then he lost his form. Moreover, Ralf Fahrmann has finally been un-injured and is considered now one of the best GK in the Bundesliga and a big factor for the great season by Schalke. He will be the GK nr.1 while Giefer will fight with him over the position as GK nr.2.

But yeah, Schalke has plenty of potential to be on same level of BVB. I hope sooner or later, for the sake of Bundesliga.

Fahrmann is better than what they had, but people were saying Unnerstall was the next big thing, too. He's certainly not one of the best GK in a league that has Neuer, Adler, Ulreich, Trapp, ter Stegen, Leno, Baumann, Weidenfeller, Zieler and Benaglio. Giefer might not be as good anymore, I haven't seen him in over a year, but he was certainly very good. It was Fortuna that dropped off, not him, he kept making great saves throughout the season. Unless he's lost a step at the 2nd division, I'm sure he'll be the No. 1 keeper at Schalke by this time next year.
