Waste of time really, Micah Richards and Barry should have started ahead of the Neville brothers, we all know what Gary can do the game should have been used to experiment, and Phil is not international class, especially at left back. SWP was ****, Dyer drifted in and out. Carrick did nothing to suggest he should earn a starting place, Lampard didn't do much and Crouch kept fouling defenders. Its hard to take any positives out of this.

I think the real problem in the england side is that playing for the country has shrinked in stature.This explains the lack of pride & passion.Thats why McClaren is trying to adopt the 'Club' Mentality.Personally I feel,it will take a lot for this mentality to materialise.Face it,England does have a lot of quality in players and the quote by McClaren said about 'not having the right tools' is bitter rubbish.You could have the 'best tools' money could buy but if you dont know how to use them,that itself would be the problem.Final word,I think the FA was wrong to appoint McClaren.Phil Scolari would be revolutionary for England.

England play bellow their best and the reasons are:
a rubbish manager who still selects players on reputation and not form/team mentality. He doesn’t try many new players and if he does most often not in their best position to honestly have a look at them.
There is no team visible, only individualists.
+ Who needs 13 Midfielder and only 2-3 Strikers instead....

Robinson currently is not the best goalie England has - James as error prone he may be is in good form, as is Ben Foster.
Richards is doing well, but so is Gary Neville and he's got expirience that can be useful in the coming away games. As much as I love Gaz, Micah will give him a good run for the RB Spot probably from now. Still there is no need to change just for the sake to do so.
the CBs are good and well covered (Terry,Ferdinand, Woodgate, King but some of them are unfit), too bad Campbell get’s overlooked despite being in superb form. I’m not saying he should be a starter but his experience and class merit a call up in the Squad.
LB: A.Cole has always been overrated, but he's a good player, as is Bridge and supposedly Barry (but we haven't seen much of him at Left Back for England)
the Midfield needs the watercarriers (Hagreaves, but he lacks matchfitness) Carrick is doing allright for Utd. Gerrard regulary underperforms for England as does Lampard and neither goes with each other. 1 on the bench for the sake of the team and midfield balance. Maybe it will help bring out the best out of them.
Lennon adn J.Cole are good but both are unfit and the 1st one lacks Interantioal Expirience, but is fantastic with his speed. Downing, Richardson are too average and specially the later should never be in the England Squad again. SWP is a joke – he probably played more mins for England than Chelsea, which says all. He used to be a promising player at City, but that is as far away from the current player. James Milner would be worth having a look at, same as Joey Barton and Scott Parker
Then there is of corse Becks who despite never being the quickest set up plenty of goals and scored a couple aswell and he's got expirience big time. I think it would be useful to have him in the Squad for the coming games.
Scholes doesn’t want to play anymore for England.
Rooney is good, sets up many chances but on International level scores to less goals (it’s not all his fault either, he needs a 2nd striker)
Crouch is average and he sucks in the air (if you want to look how a tall man plays with class – Jan Koller the former Dortmund player or Carew)
Defoe and Bent, as Johnson haven’t really been given proper chances. Sheringham long retired but maybe would be a worth a shot as a sub with all his exirience. Alan Smith lacks match fitness aswell as not really having had a real chance upfront after his Red Card some years back.

I see a lot of resemblance between England NT and Spanish NT. They have a very good players, they always promises to get good things in Euro's and WC, but always the same...
What I don't understand is the way Crouch plays in the air. Horrible for me. How can a tall man like him, play so bad in air balls?
Rooney...i see Roonye as the eternal "wannabe". Like Torres in Spain. A very very overestimated players. Good players, but not cracks. Rooney is younger than Torres and he can improve a lot his play, but I don't expect too much.
My favourite player now from England is Lampard. Very similar to Baraja, powerful, strong, with goal...The same for Gerrard. I think you have a very good midfield. Gerrard and Lampard are good defending and good attacking. I like this kind of players. Spain hasn't got many players like this. they have more players as Iniesta, very good attacking, but not good defending. Xabi Alonso and Baraja are good attacking and good defending, but Alonso is more defending kind and Baraja is not fit. Albelda is a lot of defensive player, the best for me in his position.
I think you have a lack os strikers right now. Rooney and Crouch...I don't think they can do very much. Spain, we have a old Raul a overestimated Torres and a wonderful Villa, so we can say just Villa.
I think both teams have always the same problems on it, and I don't see any change right now. What a pity.
