Wilson's like the best soccer journalist around, he started that niche Blizzard magazine thing, and I think he's a Sunderland fan as well, I have no reason to believe he would lie.

Really looking foward to see how Stoke, Fulham and QPR are gonna do with their new signings. QPR is starting to look like Bolton few years ago, heh.

Stoke and Villa got some good players off Spurs, kind of excited about some teams now, since a lot of them have a new feel about them.

Oh and tits.
Stoke is very progressive and Tony Pulis deserves more credit than he gets.

@Shifty- That difference may depend on the fact that we are the most expensive team to watch in the world. This "self sustainable model" is hypocritical to a certain extent.

Damn international games, why we should have one so early? It kills the whole momentum of the league. It was just getting exciting and I was corious to see new transfers.

Probably a good thing for a lot of guys who aren't full internationals. Arteta for example can take a week long course at Wenger University.

Match day revenue would include things like internet tv, merchandise sales etc I imagine.

So I guess it's possible.

Nope they just have perfect hospitality, best WiFi and their press room serves the best breakfast according to the media, no trophies though.

I remember their being a Chelsea hotel where that Cameroonian midfielder whose name escapes me stayed.

Is that really true about Arsenal and Sunderland match-day revenue? The Emirates only has 11,000 more seats than Sunderland, and Sunderland sell-out regularly.I'm quite surprised about that, but it would be interesting to see a report.

EPL's fact of the week:

Richard Dunne has extended his lead at the top of the all-time own-goal table in the Premiership, after producing another fine specimen against QPR in the weekend.

He has now managed to score a grand total of 19 goals during his 15-year professional career, with almost half of those efforts (9) going in the direction of his own net...what an absolute legend!

Jamie Carragher is still close on the run for the top spot though, with 7 own goals on his account.

Top own-goal scorers in the history of the EPL:

9 - Richard Dunne
7 - Jamie Carragher
6 - Frank Sinclair
5 - Henning Berg
5 - Michael Duberry
5 - Rio Ferdinand
5 - Richard Rufus

I was listening to a podcast about a week ago and they posed the question who has the better short and long term futures, Tottenham or Arsenal? And I started thinking about it, and I realized that Spurs right now are a LOT better than I previously assumed.

Friedel, Walker, King, Dawson, Bale, Modric, Huddlestone, Parker, van der Vaart, Sandro, and now the final piece to the puzzle, which is Adebayor. And the guys I don't think are stars (Lennon and Assou-Ekotto) are solid players who won't hurt the team, and then there's also Gio as the wildcard if he could ever secure a place on the bench or in the squad. That is a GOOD TEAM. Although I must admit I think they could regret going with Friedel over Gomes, because Friedel will only last a couple more seasons and then they'll have a real problem.

So I guess what I'm saying is that Spurs will be able to keep Modric when they make the Champions League, and I think they have the brighter short and long term future than Arsenal. That is an incredible amount of talent.
