I was listening to a podcast about a week ago and they posed the question who has the better short and long term futures, Tottenham or Arsenal? And I started thinking about it, and I realized that Spurs right now are a LOT better than I previously assumed.
Friedel, Walker, King, Dawson, Bale, Modric, Huddlestone, Parker, van der Vaart, Sandro, and now the final piece to the puzzle, which is Adebayor. And the guys I don't think are stars (Lennon and Assou-Ekotto) are solid players who won't hurt the team, and then there's also Gio as the wildcard if he could ever secure a place on the bench or in the squad. That is a GOOD TEAM. Although I must admit I think they could regret going with Friedel over Gomes, because Friedel will only last a couple more seasons and then they'll have a real problem.
So I guess what I'm saying is that Spurs will be able to keep Modric when they make the Champions League, and I think they have the brighter short and long term future than Arsenal. That is an incredible amount of talent.
