Well I initially came here the same reason as most have, and that was the FIFA games back in 2001-2002. And then the PES boom happened for a couple of years and I sort of migrated to evo-web since that's where most of the modders shared their work.But I do remember guys like juce and TheWolf publishing their work here in SG first as well.

Although my interest in video games has waned somewhat, I think the future is looking good for the SG forums, coincidentally with the resurgence of FIFA from FIFA10-12, in terms of quality of the games. That's where most of the upcoming new members are likely to join here for.

I'm not posting as frequently as I had before but I do find a bit of time to post especially in the Soccer forums(including Team Threads). But that part of the forums has not been as active as it was say, 2 years ago I might say.

I dont see no reason why it cant be a lot bigger and better then what it is, it has an impresseive Alexa ranking, the only thing that may be holding it back is the board software seems dated.

But to upgrade takes a **** load of work.

I like the datedness of it - looking at your forum makes me realize how retro and old ours is - it almost looks exactly the same as it did ten years ago! I like that.

Yeah I dont think I'd have the guts even then so I am relying on cigarettes and alcohol to do the job for me. Cigarettes are my pension plan, I pay in every day and it means I dont have to worry about ten years of my old age.

Yeah i appreciate the design, like i was a mod on a training forum with an even more retro skin then this and it was awesome, makes forums stand out.

Just a lot of people like upto date stuff.

About the software update, I have no idea why this has taken so long and will contact Matt and ask him about the progress.

It is believed SG have been in discussions with a major Chinese entertainment company (which I can't name for obvious confidentiality reasons), so almost certainly them.

Oh, Matt told me it was an Indian firm. The Indian economy is growing so fast, as is interest in football there

You're absolutely correct, those talks are ongoing too but I heard they eased off from their big initial offer after reading some of the anti-Indian posts on this forum recently. Matt was not very happy!

Be interesting to see who wins, though I'm not holding my breath on a decision soon. The bidding war is pretty hotly contested.
