I'd never fill a 1GB card, I just got a 256MB card in my camera and even when I think I've taken tons of pics, it barely gets half-filled

But it might be useful when i go overseas so i dont have to empty the card onto cds that often. Like a 3 week trip to Europe, you would take lots of photos and if you could choose between a card that hols 150 photos and one that holds 570 photos it would be more useful to have the bigger option.

Oh yeah... I forgot this... Apple sent me a letter a few weeks ago. They're being sued by a bunch of people claiming that the battery life wasn't as long as advertised. Apple is now settling the case by offering certain people a new battery, a new iPod or a $50 in store credit. I finally had time to go to Best Buy and get the receipt and I'm sending it in tomorrow... and yes, my iPod's battery lasts about 30 minutes. Than I gotta recharge.

I'm probably getting whatever iPod is being sold at the price of $300. My iPod is a 3rd generation 15GB-one, there's still loads of the 20GB 4th-gen around... so I'm not sure. But I hope so (H)

I am sure you guys have heard about this 5gb MP3. Frankly, I am glad I got it with the money I got from that free Ipod deal. It is a good player at first sight, but it also has a ton of problems.

the damn thing drains power, while it is OFF. A flaw the company has confirmed.

There was a problem where the headphone Carlos would end up breaking from the inside after a few months of use, making the player no more than a mini-HD. This has been fixed after many complaints.

The "extra" stuff that came with it is crap, within the first week I had it, I broke all of the stuff they gave me.

The one good thing about this thing, is the fact that it has an option to turn it into a mini-HD, so if worse comes to worse, I still have all my music on it AND a mini-HD which most of the time would cost a lot just on its own.

btw, Arash, when you get your IPOD, can I get your old one? :(

If the thing goes completely dead, Best Buy will give me a new iPod. Or so they said.

So no. But I'll sell it to you.

Tell Apple themselves about it, they're usually pretty good with keeping customers happy. I've heard that in situations like that where there's an obvious faulty battery or unit, they'll actually send you a box to ship your iPod, laptop, etc back to them, then they'll either send you back yours fixed, a refurbished one, or a new one all together.

This is the reason I praise Apple so much, wether you think iPods are overpriced or whatever, you can't beat their overall quality..it's like the BMW of MP3 players. I've seen stuff like this happen pretty commonly with other MP3 players, actually most people I know who don't have an iPod don't usually have their players last more than a year (then they get an iPod, hehe), where I know a couple people who still use 2nd gen iPods with no complaints. :( I dunno what to tell you dude, contact Creative and complain maybe, they're a decent company so they might do something for ya. At least you didn't get a Rio or else you'd be f*cked, I've seen their sh!t customer service and product quality first hand. Pure garbage..

u think it'll matter that my IPod is a little "damaged"? The top part where the headphones go in is now easily removable and theres a dent on the top right side of it, its small but there nonetheless. And the play button is hard to push.

hmmm, dunno....probably shouldn't matter too much since that stuff doesn't have anything to do with battery life. I'd send it anyway, you might get lucky and they'd replace it with a refurb in better condition or something.

well, I contacted Apple and I was still under warranty, but since it had been more than 6 months since I bought it all I have to pay is shipping and handling. They're gonna send me a box to send it to them in and the email they sent me said they're gonna send me a replacement IPod. :D (Y)

See, what I tell ya! :) There's always benefits to buying from a reputable company like Apple..

Hey, I'm willing to bet they'll even send you one of the new color screen iPods!

Yeah Paul, but if you've had it over 6 months, then it'll be one of the old mini's. They have re-released the mini's with new improvements. How long was the battery life on the old mini's? cos now its :drevil: 18 hours :drevil:
