hey guys, I know Im like a million years behind but I just started using iTunes

anyway, question: is there any way from iTunes to convert my mp3s to m4a (and get them to the lirary) without adding the mp3 files to the library first?

I've been wondering about this for a while.

How do you make the songs be in the right order in the sections on the ipod like "albums?" Like for example I can create a playlist and put the songs in the order that they are on the actual album but then when the ipod automatically puts the songs in separate sections by album they are in random order. Anyone know how to solve this?

haha my mates got one of those, but the screen broke so he couldnt see what he was selecting. He spent a whole free period going through all the albums in order and writing them down, only for another mate to come along and accidently put it on random

My cousins just got that new sony bubble thing, i aint listened to it, but it lights up nicely !

does leaving an ipod charging overnight take away from battery life? ie: it's best to unplug it after the 4hours/complete charge

I leave mine plugged in all the time when I'm not using it, still has great battery life after almost 2 years

QUESTION:

If I already have one iPod installed on my computer how do I install another one? Can they both use the same iTunes? Can you have two of them installed on on computer?

I tried to put in the CD that came with the new one but an error message pops up that says a version is already installed. So I opened iTunes and just plugged it into a USB port and iTunes didn't recognize it.

If you know how to solve this problem please help me. Thanks!

I have my IPod and my brothers on my laptop, i just plug in the one I want and it detects it. That should be it.

same here, I got my iPod and the gf's iPod shuffle on the same computer, they both get recognized right away. I'm on a Mac though..

But this is a new iPod and if you remember when you install iTunes for the first time it asks you to name your iPod and give some more info but all that is prompted by the CD. When I plug in this new one the computer recognizes it but iTunes doesn't. I do have the latest version by the way.

Hey guys, i managed to break my Sony HD5 So i'm currently on the lookout for a cheap 20gb mp3 player with decent sound to replace it. Amazon have the iRiver H10 for £139.99 which sounds like a great deal and CNet give it a good rating. Just wondering if anyone has one or knows someone that does and could tell me anything useful about it?

Put it in the microwave for a bit on "defrost" setting.

Just thought I'd share that when I got my MacBook it also came with a free iPod nano, so this is basically the second free iPod that I've gotten

I'm selling it though.

So looks like Apple released new iPod Shuffles & Nano's today.. the new shuffle looks really cool IMO, although it's so bloody small that I reckon a lot of them will get lost, hehe. New Nano's are ok, nothing special, sort of a revert back to the old iPod Mini styling..

I'm thinking of getting an iPod, but not sure wether to choose the big, but roomy 30gb or a small but not so roomy 4gb. any suggestions?
