Gerrard tries to hide his face after a damaging defeat.

dam again pelligrino produced no good passes, his tackles were spot on though. Our midfield was so poor, we barely created any chances and ive been pretty dissapointed in traore the past few games. His display isnt liverpool material.

birmingham played a good game against us tho. we couldnt build up any play from the back, and when the ball was in the midfield we were never really allowed any time on the ball to go on from there.

Birmingham might have played well but either way the current team is mediocre at best. Definitely not championship material by a long shot.

Birmigham did play well, but we still should be beating them. We need a leader, Gerrard can't do it all by himself. Our team also seems to have no consistancy what so ever, one or two wins and they seem to think they are gods gift too football, pitiful :kader:

Did you know... Liverpool has lost more games WITH Gerrard than without him?

You guys could do worse than grabbing 20-30 mill for him in the summer, and using it to build a the team (Y)

Well how many games has he been out? A couple? That's different from having a long stretch of games with him in action. So ofcourse they would probably lose more with him around.

I think our next couple of signings should be players like Wright Phillips or creative players. Missing Xabi is big though.

I can't help but feel we won't be in the CL next year :(

Well, when Gerrard has played, we've usually had other players injured. When he wasn't injured, we still had most of our players, we had cisse, alonso, baros, kewell and garcia consistantly. When he came back, all those players got injured, actually all of them.

Never sell Gerrard, did u not watch the olympiakos game??

From when Gerrard has been back, he hasn't been able 2 play with some of our better players, like cisse, kewell and alonso. Baros was also out a couple times too. As was Garcia.

i gave up after half time.. i knew they never gonna scores... i think i'll stop watching them play since i always jinx them... which ewan always said so...

And if you aren't in the CL, then why would SWP even consider a move? His next move will be to a team that is playng at that level. It won't be United, and if it isn't a European team it will most likely be Arsenal or Chelsea. As much as I hate it - if he were to move I wouldn't begrudge a move to Pool so much as the other two, but thats reality.

Yeah, I was just airing aloud what I had read someone writing the other day - and they made a pretty convincing argument for selling a player who has made no secret of their desire to move if the team aren't making it to Europe, pocketing the money from it and making a few decent signings. How much do you REALLY need him? Scoring a goal against Olympiakos is one thing, but if you really want to go places you can't rely on one player to do it.

EDIT: 'ere it is: http://football.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,9753,1409835,00.html

What are the chances that Diouf will play for Liverpool again?

If I was in his position, I would have never come back, doesnt look like he will get the chance, Baros, Cisse and Moro.

our away form is so terrible. we need 5 home wins from 6 if we wanna make the CL. nobody played well on saturday. Hamann and Biscan just do not do enough.

not having Alonso has killed us.

Youth Team
You know, we have been pretty inconsistent with our results, but generally, we have outplayed the other teams. If our team was fully fit all season, do you think we would be challenging Chelsea for the title? Hell we should have beat them last time we played them...

Sorry Rhizome, but that's just dumb logic. Mostly because when Gerrard is available, he starts and he's the team captain, meaning he features on the first team almost everytime, except for injury problems.

If you play more games, you're bound to win more and/or lose more. We lost more games with him on the pitch because he's always on the pitch. The fact we lost less without him is a mere coincidence.

Plus we won a lot of games because of Gerrard.

*Just an example btw.

But is he ESSENTIAL?

No player is essential, the only way I can see us putting it as something that would be a similar situtation at Man City would be if Wright-Phillips were to leave. Hes not essential, but hes damn near it.
