where is Kezman going then?

As for Malbranque coming to the club, I doubt it. I think Rafa will look for more of an all out winger for the right given what Ewan posted about him being a big fan of using wingers. Again though, this is purely speculation.

Well, Gerrard saying, i dont have to change my sig anymore. We have to play Baros, and i wouldnt regret if we sell Owen. For a defender, what about Bonera? Parma is so poor in money terms that if we threw a 5 million bid i doubt they would reject it.

Adios Diouf, hello Edgar (?).......MALAGA are ready to call time on El Hadji Diouf's disappointing stay at Anfield.

The Spanish side have been in contact with Liverpool over the purchase of the Senegalese striker, who has endured a miserable time on Merseyside since signing two summers ago.

Diouf arrived at Anfield with a burgeoning reputation after starring for his country in the 2002 World Cup, his £10.5million move from Lens making him the second most expensive player in Liverpool's history.

But the player dubbed 'the Serial Killer' has become synonymous with the club's faltering period under departed manager Gerard Houllier.

Diouf has scored just six goals in 80 appearances during his two seasons at Liverpool and has often courted controversy, most notably when he spat at Celtic supporters during a UEFA Cup tie in Glasgow in March 2003 (pictured above).

The 23-year-old has previously been linked with a move to Marseille, and with new signing Djibril Cisse having taken over his number nine shirt, Diouf has ominously been left without a squad number.

Liverpool would accept an offer of around £3m for the forward. However, it is likely the Anfield side would have to reach a settlement with Diouf over paying the remaining two years of his contract as Malaga are unable to match the player's current salary.

The Spanish side may ease their financial burden by proposing a player-plus-cash deal involving midfielder Miguel Angel, but Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is thought not to believe the midfielder of sufficient quality for his squad.

Another option is for the Primera Liga side to take Diouf on loan for a season before making the move permanent.

Marseille are currently exploring such an avenue as they attempt to take midfielder Bruno Cheyrou back to France.

The 26-year-old, who has three caps for France and joined Liverpool in 2002 from Lille, played only 12 matches last campaign.

Marseille coach Jose Anigo said: "We are definitely on the right track to sign Cheyrou next campaign even though nothing has been signed yet."

A report this morning, meanwhile, suggested Liverpool could be poised to hijack Spurs' move for Dutch midfield star Edgar Davids.

No-one at Anfield was available for comment, although Davids is reported as saying: "I've received two very interesting offers from England and will announce a decision in the next few days.

"I've been linked with a move to England for a long time and maybe it's the right time now."

Davids is a free agent after his contract with Juventus ran out, and the 31-year-old's £30,000 a week wages are not prohibitive.

Let's get him. A midfield duo of Gerrard and Davids would be great. Gerrard would get a lot of freedom to join the attack and it's hard to see anything get past Davids (if they do he'll foul them anyway(H) ). Why would Davids want to join Spurs anyway?:mrpimp:

All up to the gaffer when they first meet up for preseason on July 12. Whitbread was one of the most improved players in the reserves last season, he was commanding at both centreback and leftback, strong, quick, strong and very effective. He overshadowed even the likes of 'firstteamers' traore and biscan in terms of performance. I hear the US manager have been pleased with reports of Whitbread's progress?
Bruce Arena (US manager) is definitely keeping up on Whitbread's progress. I think if Whitbread is part of the Liverpool first team this year or if he's loaned out and sees regular playing time he'll get capped pretty soon. We could really use a good left back in time for World Cup 2006. :)

says in the daily express (same paper that confirmed gerrard had signed for chelsea :| ) that owen is set to sign a new 2 year deal at anfield. he'll go from 60k a week to 75k a week, if this is true then im baffled! :o what has michael owen done to be rewarded with an extra 15k every week? hes getting crapper and crapper but his pay is gettin better and better :kader:

davids = yes please

Hmmmm.....so do ya think that Thomas is droping a few hints to Rafa or what:rolleyes:

Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky has hailed his fellow countryman Milan Baros as the perfect team-mate and insists that he'd love to play alongside the Liverpool striker at club level.
"I like to play with him very much, he is a perfect team-mate," claimed Rosicky who has been tipped to leave German side Borussia Dortmund this summer. "I am sure we would combine well together on the pitch if we play for the same club in the future.

Rosicky is being linked with Juventus i think.
We will need a defensive player if Hamann leaves Lfc;so Davids would be better but I really like Rosicky

Chelsea... :kader:

Kezman's gonna be a hit. Don't understand why we hadn't gone for him when we could have.

I want Diouf to stay. He is a good player. I know he can prove it, just needs to be played right :kader:

Davids would be really nice, I wanted him before. Just hope he doesn't request ridiculous money.

Andrew, you reffer to Liverpool as "we" now? :| Since when?

Oh yeah, whoever posted a lineup with both Duff and J. Cole in the lineup :| That's all I have to say: :|

I don't want Diouf to stay. He has never had a good scoring record for any of the clubs he's played for. I don't see why he would start scoring goals now. As for Davids wages, well, if he was on 30,000 a week before then even if he ups his demands he's still going to be cheaper than many top class midfielders. Regarding Kezman: I'm a bit pissed off that we didn't go for him too. I heard 8million euros, which is hardly outside of our financial limits. :(
