Returning to Valladolid he played 27 games and scored 8 goals.
In the summer of 2002 he returned to FC Barcelona who sold him to Atlético de Madrid, but again with a buy-back option. He played 25 games, 22 of them in the starting line-up, totalling 1.523 minutes and 6 goals.
After his fine season with Atlético de Madrid, the Club decided to exercise the buy-back clause.

He is mainly a left footer, but can be played on the right side where he is apparently good at cutting in etc.
He is reasonably quick
