That's it! After yesterday I will never ever organize a homegame again! You expect for your efforts in setting up something like that, taking a lot of your time and asking a buy-in of €5 that the level of play will be reasonable...
We start a 6-handed tournament and after about 2h we end up with the last three remaining. I'm second in chips and get 53s in the BB. Button folds, SB (chipleader) calls and I check. Flop comes: J52 rainbow. I can see by the reaction to the flop of the SB what she is thinking: the constant checking of the cards, of the flop, the raised eyebrows... You can't get a clearer notion of knowing she missed it completely. SB checks, I bet 2.5BB with my middle pair. She ponders about it for a while and then gets challenged by someone else at the table to raise me, which she does. I re-raise to double her raise. Again the pondering and I tell her to fold as I know she has nothing and she will still remain chipleader if she gives it up. Bang, she re-reraises me 4X my raise to put me all in. I push, she thinks for a while and calls (clearly irritated) showing 86s (she missed the heart on the flop).
I'm just about to count out my stack for the double up when I see the turn hit her 8. She gets all giddy like she has just made the most genious move in the history of poker, turning me into a more evil recreation of Hellmuth, getting in a rant which - for the sake of the children - I shall not post in here... I go outside to get some fresh air, get back in and the first thing I hear is: "Well, shows you the big part luck plays in this game." Man, I could kill a fluffy kitten at that moment.
Someone wanted to give me a chance to retain my honour in organizing a freeroll heads-up, which I horribly lost because of the tilting...
Sorry for this random 'venting of the mind'. Please continue the more constructive posting.
