luisão in the first months was adapting to the european soccer, so he didn't played as well as we had expected, but now we have a very solid defender there ;)

It is said by Spanish press and "O Jogo" that Camacho to Real is as good as done and he wants to take Luisao to Real Madrid :rolleyes: . AS says Real will start by offering 5million €


Well I guess we better start looking for replacements... I can't see who now though. Really doubt we can pay someone like Ottmar Hitzfeld that is leaving Bayern. I really hope we don't get some lame portuguese coach like a Manuel Jose prototype. The only portuguese coach I wouldn't mind seing in Benfica is Humberto Coelho because of the way he made our NT play, but he's still unproven as a club coach and I rather see him back in the NT after Scolari leaves.

What do you think?

Yes, I guess it will be very, very difficult that Camacho stays. Which is a real pity! He has done a great job and the team would benefit hugely if he stayed next season...

Anyway, I also don't see an ideal replacement. Things are not looking good... About Humberto Coelho, I don't want to see him in Benfica, at least not yet. As you said he is an unproven coach and I think he's not that good. He only did well with the Portuguese NT, with Morocco and South Korea it was a disaster.

I think José Peseiro could do well. I definitely would like to see him as Benfica's coach. He's a bit unproven, but he is a young and ambicious coach, that I believe can do well. Although most of you will kill me for saying this, I would like Scolari as well. Seriously, he's a hard-working coach (like Camacho), with strong ideas of his own and he already knows our players and our football. But I doubt he comes... Besides, he would be very expensive, and this is one thing I don't want.

Mainly, I want a coach that knows Portuguese football (Portuguese or not), not some foreigner with no idea, that will take more than 6 months to know the players and figure out how things work...

That play was more a merit of Derlei than a demerit of Luisão...
and he marked maccarthy and you saw mccarthy doing something? Don't think so... :rolleyes: He totally owned Benni all game.

Luisao is a great centre back. he made a good game in the cup final and he is a brazilian NT player...

Great to hear, by I think that has to do with the upcoming Euro. Wonder if they'll put the glasses back on once the league starts...

Sporting lost again in the USA against the Revolution 2-1, and 3 redcards for Sporting and game didn't even finish:rolleyes: JVP, Paulo Bento, and Silva got the early shower. Game was stopped after Silva's direct red and people from benches invaded field.

Paulo bento wil also be promoted to assistant trainer after he comes back to Portugal.

Oh yea Mourinho will be at Chelsea till 2008 he got a 4 year contract.

did you read Fernando Santos' comments afterwards, he blamed the whole thing on the conduct of the referee! hehe :rofl: I guess the "sistema" even extends to friendly matches in the United States :rolleyes:

FS is a disgrace, the sooner he's dropped from Sporting the better off the club will be...
