This offseason, I hope the entire team gets blown up, and we start from scratch. The first step is sacking Fernando Santos. Next up, the sale of Simão, before he becomes worthless to the point where we can't get a fee of any significance. Also, I'd like to see the following players leave, whether or not we get a fee for them is inconsequential:

-Beto (I think we are all in agreeance on that one)
-David Luiz (tbh, I never even heard of him until we signed him)
-Derlei (please, go to Saudi Arabia or Qatar and make one last big paycheck)
-Mantorras (he'd be better served by going somewhere else)
-Marco Ferreira (not good enough to play for a grande)
-Miccoli (too fragile for the Betadine League)
-Moretto (clown of a goalkeeper, with apologies to clowns everywhere)

I'm sure there are at least a couple more players that must go, but these are the most obvious choices.

Simão is carrying this team on his own. If he leaves, I doubt we'll even get 3rd next season (in case FS stays).

David Luiz is a very promissing player, he's playing way better than Anderson, IMO he'll become a very classy defender. He's already a good CB dispite his age.

The rest, I agree.

I agree with almost everything, but:

Like Tiago said Simão is carrying the team on his shoulders since he came, he had lots of opportunities to go to other clubs (he actually had sited on a plain prepared to go to Liverpool), and after everyone, including the press, our fans and the opposite fans said that he wouldn't have the motivation to stay with us and he would be playing bad because he hadn't leave, he keeps shutting everybody's mouth, he's our best player, goals, assists, our only player that can make the difference, and be regular, i want him to end his career in the club, period.

David Luiz is an amazing player, and still very young, would be a huge mistake not to buy him, he's our best player since he started playing, after Simão.

Mantorras, well... i rather have him than Nuno Gomes, and if he can play 90 minutes like he claimed, he must stay because he's pretty dangerous, we must still buy two more strikers, and give Yu Dabao a place in the team.

I lost my patience about Nuno, some Arabian club should buy him, he could make a lot of success in there, if no one shows interest we must renew his contract, so his wage is reduced substantially, and he could be a good sub.

Okay, maybe I did rush to judgment regarding David Luiz, but like I said, I've haven't really seen him play that much so I'm not really in a strong enough position to make a thorough evaluation.

As for Simão, my thinking was that if we were to sell him in the summer, the fee would help fund the arrival of 2 or 3 players that we would really need. However, we would end up losing our best player and our leader, and on that side of the coin, the sale would hurt far more than help.

Simão injured (fails to play at Madeira and might not be able to play against Sporting, knowing our medical department, he will probably play anyway, and make his injury a lot worse than it is now) :(, it's the end, we're gonna be murdered :( :(

Woo Hoo!! (H) (ironic of course)

Sporting may be playing great, and Benfica bad, but in "classicos" we all know that the team that's in worst shape makes a turnaround...

LOL for the goals of Alecssandro.

I think Bento should start both Alecsandro and Bueno, just for the fun of it.

Alecsandro and Bueno? Did Christmas come earlier this year? Please Bento, do that. And while you're at it, put Farnerud and Paredes in aswell. They're doing so great this year :) Leave Moutinho on the bench, he's crap! So is Miguel Veloso!

Irony off, this promises to be an action-packed match. I'm really nervous about this one.

Moutinho and Veloso (I specially like this guy, his left foot does wonders) are in great shape, but so is David Luiz (hell of a player) or Karagounis (yes, he's our best player next to Simão, never seen such form in him since he arrived).

I predict a 1-0 win. And it's enough! Katsouranis scoring a header from a corner, with a great jump from Ricardo in the way ;)

No one here cares about today's Porto derby? Undoubtedly this forum is dethroned in majority by Benfica fans but this game deserves a bit of attention.

I know Boavista is not in that form, which Boavista's fans could wish for but such a games are always interesting. I hope, that Boavista will stop Porto and get 1 point at least. Also I have faith for my countrymen in Boavista, I wish them well game and goals obviously.(Y)

yeah, this derby doesn't have the interest this year that it has had in the past and I'm sure it has to do with Boavista's terrible form and position in the league this season.. which doesn't make sense since Boavista has one of the best rosters outside of the big 3 clubs, they should really be in the top 5/6 with the players they have..

Quite frankly, with a Benfica-Sporting it's obvious people will look much more to it than to a Boavista-Porto.

However, if you want to see players fighting (literally) you should go for the Boavista-Porto. Now, I'm not saying the other game is gonna end up with 22 players on the field, but hardly ever this happens in Boavista-Porto matches.

And like Shinji said I do agree that Boavista should be doing better with the players that they have.

I think it's due to all these factors.
