Nem Ronaldinho, nem Shevchenko, na opinião do atacante Ronaldo, do Real Madrid, o melhor jogador do mundo é seu companheiro de equipe Zinedine Zidane.
"Zizou continua o melhor do mundo, mesmo que tenha enfrentado dificuldades durante a temporada", afirmou o brasileiro ao jornal francês L'Equipe.

Em 2004, Zidane não repetiu as boas atuações de outros anos. O meia fracassou com o Real Madrid e, na Eurocopa, caiu com a França nas quartas-de-final diante da Grécia. Após a competição, o meia anunciou a aposentadoria da seleção.

"Ele (Zidane) é um grande jogador e uma excelente pessoa. O conheço muito bem, pois sou seu amigo. Vejo sua dedicação nos treinos a cada dia", afirmou Ronaldo.

Na eleição da Fifa de melhor jogador do mundo de 2004, Zidane ficou na quinta posição, com 150 pontos.

Mesmo longe da seleção francesa, Ronaldo acredita que Zidane poderá voltar a sua melhor forma.

"Provavelmente foi difícil para Zidane, mas esta feito. Temos de tomar decisões nas nossas carreiras e, um dia, farei o mesmo, mas acredito que ainda veremos muito de Zizou. Ele é o melhor", disse.

Ronaldo, no entanto, havia dito durante a preparação da Seleção Brasileira para jogo contra o Equador, em novembro, que Ronaldinho merecia o prêmio da Fifa.

Actually Deco LEARNED how to play soccer in Brasil, besides just being born there. That makes him Brazilian only if he's good. lol

deco actually probably liuved in brazil for a while because when i heard him speaking to the portuguse press, his portuguese was nmothing like the portuguese speak and it was like brazilians.

cuz right after he left, nuno gomes came and his portuguese is very very different.

Ive been watchin old Barca vs. Madrid games on goltv (its freakin awesome to see Rivaldo own) and I noticed that the fans then still did the monkey chants everytime Rivaldo touched the bal! The racism thing has been just as bad as it is now for such a long time and no one did anything about it! Ridiculous!!

Real Madrid have been linked with Cruzeiro midfielder Claudio Maldonado.

Local Brazilian media reports suggest new Real coach Wanderlei Luxemburgo has recommended the Chile international to GM Arrigo Sacchi.

Luxemburgo and Sacchi have discussed the need to bring in a new defensive midfielder during the winter market, though Maldonado, himself, has played down their apparent interest.

"For me, it would be a very good opportunity to join Madrid," he said. "But at the moment it is only a dream."

Maldonado's agent is former Real favourite Ivan Zamorano.

It seems like were being linked with a different Midfielder everyday, i just hope we get one soon, but Pedretti would be my preferred choice. :hump:
