I've been driving for 9 months now, but it was automatic the whole time. Easy ****... you basically don't even have to think about it.

Now in Poland I started driving on manuals, and it rules.

It's just so much better, I dunno  I'm gonna be buying a car soon when I get back to the states, and I'm definitely buying a manual.

And there's all this cool **** you can do with a manual transmission you can't do on an automatic... :D

Tom, try this...... Drive like 60kmh on a straight road, when you're about to take a turn on an intersection, reduce your gear, and pull the E-break up..... as you're finishing the turn, release the E-break and speed up... (H)

whats the E-Break?

I know what you mean about how its cool Kader, there seems to be... a lot more you could do with a manual than an automatic, feels like you're in control.

People who claim you get a much slower start in slow traffic obviously haven't driven manuals before. Manuals have the ability to accelarate faster than automatics for starters and it's hardly a whole lot of work switching gears.
Automatics are for women and retired folk. Be a man, drive a manual! :D

Another fun thing, yet very harmless (you can even peform this on a busy street!) is to pull away with screeching tires.
Rev it up to about 4000 - 5000 rpm and then let go of the clutch all of a sudden...off ya go son.(H)

Lesson 3 (with Dad)

Practised getting the start right again, went up and down the gears some more, and after a while despite that fact it was pissing it down so i couldnt see much out of the back window, i reversed for a while.

My braking is still a tad.... horrific.

Next Lesson: Go on Road!

Tom, Kader, what kind of car are you driving? Im learning in a big-ass mini-van, one thing I have to learn, is to make sure I look at both mirrors. :$ My step-dad is a ******* prat, he says he wont take me driving because he wants to make sure I drive in a car that has the e-brake next to the seat. And then when he does take me driving I do it in my backyard with the ******* van. :kader: What a dirty bastard! :kader:

I go driving with my friends anyway, so **** him.

we (north americans) get automatics..that is why we can get a license at 16... it's a whole lot easier than manuals....

I can do both I did my test in Holland and I had to do manual....

once u get the hang of manual it's awesome.... but if u can't manual then that is when u say it sucks...
