Has anyone heard anything about Thailand's government knowing anything about the tsunami and did not issue any warnings till the tsunami has arrived? It was because the Thai government do not want their tourism to be affected as by announcing warnings..no tourists would want to come to places like Phuket in Thailand to travel...this is something i heard from the news..If it's true..then Thai government has caused many of lives..:kader:

How come only Thailand knew then?

Why didnt Indonesia and Malaysia know too?

And look at Phuket now, many more people are dead, what does that do to their tourism?

The corals there have all been killed. So have the so called "cartoon fish".

Its going to take a few years and a few billion dollars to reconstruct Phuket.

The Thai government have already committed about US$200m.

I was in Bangkok the past four days and everyone was so sad, the flags were only half masked (sp?).

I think Thailand knew because another country inform them about the tsunami that is gonna arrived soon..i forgot which is the country..the news that i've seen said that a tsunami warning was passed to Thai government around 7 in the morning..and the Thai government did not issue a warning till 9 plus or so when the tsunami has arrived..

I think that's just too inconsiderate of the Thai government to be true. But if it is, they should be feeling guilty as fuck now.

well the thing is that a warning in a Tsunami would not be effective beacuse it was triggered by an earthquake and you only know of an earthquake just seconds before

yeah but the earthquake was in the middle of the ocean.

it took about 30 mins to hit the first location.

It's in Cantonese isn't it? I don't speak Cantonese let alone understanding it..i am a Hokkien..sorry for that..but sometimes..people are selfish for their own interest..u can't change it..they run on their own..people dead, it's their business..
