yep the real derby; haha pasion beeing happy at a tie now thats a first

lol. But it was an odd game (worth celebrating).
How can i say this?

Imagine that you dominated the entire 1st half (a country of over 30 million (Argentina) vs. what should be one of it's small cities), suddenly Argentina scores 3 goals in a few minutes in unbelievable fashion.

Uruguay comes out 2nd half and plays the most incredible half of football seen this tournament, completely dominating and running over Argentina and getting a tie in the most epic way possible.

(and then finding out that not only 5 players.........but STARTERS were missing from the lineup). All this vs. your most fierce rival in the 2nd oldest and still most played + with history derby in the history of the world.

Now that's cause for celebration, cause I dont know what else is (all we needed was the win to cap it off)

you obviously have zero knowledge of how old and how much history a match between uruguay and argentina has.
a 100+ year old football rivalry should definately count as a "real Derby", o and uruguay just beat paraguay 3-1

lol I know, Uruguay/Argentina is seen as the derby that changed football forever and in a way created the pre-modern game (fast touches, similar modern tactics , give and goes. etc)

Brazil/Argentina is nothing more than a derby spawned mostly by racism (root of the hatred) and the fact that both happen to be beside each other.

But I wont brag about the 3-1 with Paraguay though. Did you see the rain? that game was a coin toss, and I would be such a bitch to brag about it (its like bragging about winning on PKs).

i never said brasil's was the oldest i meant the argentina vs brasil is the best one at least on our generation ; you can ask any argentine which team they were prefer to lose if they given a choice the same goes for brazilians ; history is history mate; and i agree the argentina and brazil match up atracts more morb around the world; mostly beacause both teams have always had superstars on their rosters if you would ask anybody thats is not brazilian or argentine; an argentine vs uruguay or brazil vs uruguay ist just another good matchup ; but brazil vs argentina now there is something special its the best against the best of america to some the 2 best of the world. argentina vs uruguay i consider it a personal rivalry beetwen them; so lets face it nobody cares about somebody elses personal business hahah

Chile trashed "favorites" Colombia 5-0 in the other game played today. Let’s hope they don’t take it out on us.

"another good matchup?" . Are you kidding me? dude, atleast tell us up front that you have no knowledge of football and fine, we'll leave you alone (im actually inviting ppl from other boards to see this in disbelief).

"Another good matchup" is : Colombia/Paraguay.


It's like saying: Scotland vs. England is just "another good matchup" and that "Germany/England" is "the real derby". (I know it's too much of a distance between Scotland and England in terms of title and population...............but just imagine scotland won the same amount of world cups and Euros (well England never won any......but whatever, club titles <which is as similar as it's gonna get with Uruguay/Argentina compared to the rest of South america)


And you have no idea what argentinians think. Yeah they hate Brazilians, but URuguay-Argentina arouses passions in both nations a thousand fold compared to any game in S.A <only Brazil can rival it> (who pretty much share the same "global community" , history, cultures, and football history <<<unlike Scotland/England, Argentina actually respects Uruguay for pretty much being the size of one of it's cities and winning the same amount as they have and having an equal (if not MUCH MORE) impact in the history of world football <all of it, which Argentina barely existed after 1928 and then until 1978>

Yeah Argentina/Brazil is the most popular of the 3. But when he said : "Uruguay vs. Brazil and Uruguay vs. Argentina" are just "other good games"....(as if it was another Peru vs. Mexico or something), that pretty much killed it (self mutilation, he just flamed himself and made t he rest of us not even lift a finger)

Anyways, big games tonight- Let's see what happens (a win by Uruguay to Colombia would put 1 foot and a half into the World Cup)
- While Argentina and Paraguay are in desperate situations to win.
- Chile is so motivated after the 5-0 win that maybe even the senior Brazil NT might have problems beating them. (obvious exaggeration Big Al, don't try to use that as the only source of your argument) ...lol "Big al".

Um dude? Go search for the last time URuguay and Brazil faced in the WCQ (a thread, ill try to find it). The second anyone said: "Brazil's 5 world cups are worth **** cause they still fear Uruguay after 1950" about 10 Brazilians came running out of nowhere to desperately try to heal their egos.

I'm proud to have mine and saying that "Brazil Argentina" is a "Real derby" and the other 2 are just "good games" (meaning much lower in importance), wasnt an insult as so much ignorance. (so that's why I had to counter it <think it took less than 1 brain cell to counter such a dumb idea>). That was all .


But now that we all disproved it (and you even came back to say: "No no wait! You just misunderstood me." (that was classic ), we can all get back to the tournament .

Leaders so far: Chile, URuguay (for Olympics). But have a feeling this will change tonight (for Chile I mean lol)
