Yeah, I can't imagine what goes thru the players minds on the pitch, especially when decisions like this goes against them. Ballack may not get another chance to play in another CL final in his career, and to see your shot block by an arm(Etoo's) and the ref having rejected already countless of penalty appeals, it would've pissed the socks out of anyone. The first thought that I had in me mind was "the ref's shiny bald head", and "golf club".

As for Drogba, he realized the repercussions and still went on to do what he did, as much as all of you hate Drogba, I could understand why he said it given the circumstances of the game, what he said only expressed 10% of what we fans were feeling at the end .And just for the record he hasn't gotten away with much this season, in terms of punishment. The fact is that at that particular time, I would've spewed out profanity much worse than him, but I'll also would've regretted it later.
Sure most of the people out there would go, "ohhh, think of the children!!, what a disgrace that man is".....

I also read that Pep said after the match, JT went into the Barca dressing room and shook hands and congratulated everyone. So well done JT on that bit.

For those saying Barca beat us, they drew us in both legs and went thru on the away goal. So if Barca win the CL in the end, I could proudly think that Chelsea matched both CL winners in these two years. Well thats done and dusted. I've had it with this competition, in the coming years, I'll lower my expectations, its like we're never gonna win this thing. Terry's slip, Garcia's phantom goal, out on penalties in 2007, Del Horno sent off in 06. Its like we're just not meant to win this thing.

And to be fair to Arnau, he's been a good sport on this occasion.

Same here man. Their replies are simply unbearable during times when Barcelona are doing well..

=And, btw, I would say to Chelsea well done if they would fight like men and attack and etc, but not for the way they played. I adore Hiddink. I know he's great coach. I can understand when he coaches a small team and defends. But, I can't when he coaches Chelsea and defend. How can you chelsea fans be happy with that?

and btw, If you say to us, what do you except from us, to attack against Barça, then I would say, what do you except from us, to score 6 goals against a team who defends with 10 players?

Gawd, did u realize how daft it sounded when u posted that.
Go read what I said previously about us being forced to defend against Barca. Did u expect us play Barca to their strengths? Which part of tactics don't you understand?
There's more to football than just attacking you know. Too bad we're not all Barca fans eh? I'm sure we would feel good about ourselves everytime if we were.

Where did I defend my team in that post?

and, btw, what do you except from me, to say my team sucks. No, Never!

and btw, I bet my head that you never had love for Barça. I would never support Real Madrid just because they are playing against an English team for example. You are MU fan. You support Madrid when they play against Barça. You support Chelsea (Your rival) when they play against Barça. Why? Because bybuti is Barça's fan. No. But, because you hate that team. And, do you know why you hate it? Because you can't be like it. ;)

Trust me, dude, I had great love for Barca and still have some of it left. But surely that will also vanish away soon.

I wanted Chelsea to win because, firstly I have great admiration for Pede and Zakov. I believe they are the most practical posters in this forum.

Secondly, I have been losing my love for Barca because I cant be arrogant after win. My Indian values have taught me to be humble on winning and sporting on defeat. I respect that first and foremost. Seeing the reaction of you brats after every win of yours against significantly ****ty teams, I felt it is better for me to stay away frm a club with such worryingly increasin number of manical fans like here at SG. Yes, I know its passion but come on, what you show here is plain and simple arrogance, to put it lightly.

I am not, and I say, not gonna reply to any further comments by any Barca fans at this thread.

Bye,

I've read about 75% of this thread and I puked a little in my mouth...that is how bad it has been to read.

First and for most...the barca fans on this forum are giving their RESPECTED CLUB a really bad name...Be humble in victory

Please stop giving yourselves a bad name please its really hurting me how two/three people can really make you hate a club that plays the game the way its supposed to.

Anyways my view of the game, whatever it is worth lol:

Chelsea were robbed hands down, no doubt about it

Barca fans on here are defending themselves through the non-call on Henry in the first leg...yet if that is a penalty than the foul on DROGBA IS A PENALTY. seriously

The foul on Malouda was a little iffy if the foul started outside or inside the box...I think its a penalty he was 100% in the box when he got taken down.

Handball on Pique = penalty how anybody even defends this not being a penalty is baffling me. I do not care if his arm was there unintentionally or not it was sticking out and blocked a shot/cross

Foul in the box on Drogba=same as foul on Henry Barca fans are saying was a robbery=penalty. There was a tug/grab of teh jersey and a trip, what more can u ask for in a penalty

Now the last handball. Although it was very close to the shoulder it still hit Eto'o in the arm, the top of the arm yes but still hit the arm, his arms were stretched out and blocked the shot/cross...tough call but a penalty..ITS IN THE RULES

I dont care how much possession you had...it lead to nothing until the last minutes

You count all the scoring chances over the two legs, Chelsea had clearly a lot more.

Nobody can fault Chelsea for playing defensively and on teh counter attack...it would be suicide not to be cautious considering how Barca can dismantle anybody (ie Real Madrid)

Anyways I do not hate Barcalona, infact I wanted them in the final as another Chelsea-Man Utd would not excite me at all after the game last season...but not like this

Anyways hopefully the best team wins on May 27 and not the refs

It should be a great final...but i expect Man Ud to play exactly the same as Chelsea played today...so dont expect any different

Anyways I still RESPECT THE CLUB AND INSTITUTION THAT BARCALONA IS, despite of some of teh fans on this forum (albeit their are some god ones :)) and thus I hope you guys win the final

You clearly didn't even read that 75%. Nobody here said the Pique handball wasn't a penalty. Everyone who mentioned it, admitted it was a clear penalty. And when Buti talked about the Henry foul on the first leg, he linked it to Chelsea fans' comments on the challenge on Drogba.

Agree with you on the reaction of Drogba and Ballack. Have people here never played in any sort of competition? If that happend to my team I would have gone ape**** on the ref, seriously I am surpised that Ballack could hold himself back. I don't blame the players for what they did, the ref was worse than a usual la liga one, and that says a lot. Anyway it's no doubt you guys got robbed, looks like Uefa got the final they wanted, non-english and what most would say could be the most exciting. Although something tells me that Man Utd will play just like Chelsea did, defend and hit them with quick counterattacks.

I think people would expect you to say damn we got lucky that th ref didn't call any penalties on us, seriously because that what most Barca fans should be saying. Here is some video evidence, now honestly can you tell me that any of those are not a penalty?

You're right yesterday wasn't our day, but sometimes you need a little bit of luck... I think that all this thing about the ref, its things that can sometimes happen in football, refs have helped us before and madrid and manchester and arsenal and everybody... I feel for the chelsea fans because if the cituations were switched we would be the same, and they would be like we are... Chelsea fans need to keep your heads up, yesterday you played us like the equals that you are and got unlucky, best of luck next campaign!

Chelsea deserved the win... so unlucky 4 them. But i still think that globally (and with both teams at full strength) Barça is still the better team. But much respect for this Chelsea side.

Anyway... Messi was crucial once again. F***** legend!

Messi was complete and utter **** in both legs don`t know wtf you are talking about only good thing he really did was in first leg at begining where he made bosingwa look like an idiot. Other than that Messi didnt do **** in both legs. Don`t know how people say he is better than Ronaldo.

Stats Definetely Messi alot Better this season.
Skill Ronaldo Definetly way better.

so depends on what voter look at for WPOY

this time though Messi deserves it Ronaldo took way to long to get back in top form.

If you think that Henry was a penalty in the first leg than I don't see how you can say the one on Drogba is not? Abdial basically trys to tear Drogba's jersey off him and trips him in the process....how is that not a penalty?

Ronaldo isn't a defender in the first place. And i don't think messi is any better at defending :coffe-anim:

IMO, and as much as I sometimes regret to admit it (i would rather prefer C.R. to be better, since i'm a fanatic supporter of the Portuguese NT), Messi's not only more mature and has that right mentality on the field, compared to C.R., but he also can teach C.R. to dribble past defenders, anyday!! Messi bounds and leaps better than Ronaldo. He can also teach him how to stay on his feet and not resort to pathetic diving when (sometimes) the defender barely touched him; almost looks like he is going to cry sometimes when he gets tackled. :clapwap:.
Even when they speak to the press, listening to C.R., then to Messi, you'll get that impression that you've just listened to an young brat, after have listened to a mature young men.

Not arguing about C.R. skills nor his preponderance. But as an addition to a team, I'd prefer Messi over C.R. anyday.

Honestly, Chelsea have plenty of reasons to complain about the second leg, the ref was horrible. Except for the red card. But the ref robbed Barça in the first leg as well.

With a decent ref in the first leg, Ballack red card + a penalty. The second leg would have been a hell of a lot easier for Barça.

The refs were bad for both.

Checking the stats on UEFA.com... Shots on goal: Barça 7, Chelsea 5 (6-1 and 4-1). Though it's true that Drogba missed the best chances.

Cech in the first leg, Valdes in the second leg. Then 2 great goals. That was the semifinal. Chelsea played their physical game and Barça struggled for 180 minutes to score a goal.

When everything was almost done, Chelsea couldn't hold Barça, 11 vs 10, with one goal advantage and 25 minutes left. They can blame the ref, but that was not the reason why they're out.

At the Camp Nou Chelsea played only to stop Barça and nothing else. Then the away goals costed them.

I think Drogba was so mad because he missed some great chances and he needed to blame someone else for his own mistakes.

So true.

Even though they deserved to win yesterday, it became even more evident that Chelsea's only chance to outplay Barça is to conceed ball possession (since everybody knows that they really can't compete with Barça in that particular matter, no matter how good their players are), and then defend with all their 11 players behind the ball, and since Barça will always be the only team attacking (and not just relying on counter attacks or in the fact that the other team is defending higher in the field, to take advantage and catch them in the back foot), Chelsea will always create something in the counter, also because their attack is World Class as well.

But then again, as a neutral i say: the team that pratices the better and more entertaining football is thru to the final.

Eurosport on Referee

24th Minute - Alves on Malouda

Daniel Alves hauls down Florent Malouda on the edge of the box with the Frenchman falling inside the area. The referee awards a free-kick but no penalty.

Verdict: Replays suggest the foul was committed just inside the box, but even then it is not 100 per cent conclusive. It was perhaps the wrong decision but perhaps an excusable miss.

26th Minute - Abidal on Drogba

Eric Abidal appears to tug and trip Didier Drogba in the box but the referee waves the appeal away.

Verdict: Has Drogba ever been told the story of the boy who cried wolf? A stonewall penalty for sure but perhaps years of 'simulation' have finally caught up with the Ivorian striker. It is hard to believe him whenever he goes down.

57th Minute - Toure on Drogba

Drogba storms into the box before Yaya Toure slides in to stop him.

Verdict: Spot on referee! Drogba waved his hands in disgust at this one too but his countryman clearly won the ball.

82nd Minute - Handball Pique

Nicolas Anelka looks to flick the ball past Gerard Pique but it hits the former Manchester United man square on the hand.

Verdict: Probably not intentional but Pique was very lucky to get away with this one as his arm was outstretched. Most refs would have given it.

97th minute - Eto'o handball

Michael Ballack rockets a shot at goal and it seems to hit Samuel Eto'o around the shoulder area.

Verdict: We have seen them given but it is hard to see how Eto'o could have got out of the way - he was turning his back from the ball at the time as opposed to moving his arms towards it.

Chelsea can certainly feel aggrieved that AT LEAST one of those decisions did not go their way, but then again Abidal's red card looked harsh.

Most inexplicable of all though was how on earth did Ballack and Drogba manage to avoid red cards for their ludicrously over-the-top reactions?
All-in-all a bad night for Mr Ovrebo and it is fair to say he is unlikely to be awarded the final.

Do not be surprised if we see him again though. He is a psychologist by profession so should be able to take all the criticism in his stride. Plus he is already on the shortlist for the 2010 World Cup.
