Lehman also saved Arsenal on a few occasions. Remember Senderos' pass to Becks. Let's not pretend either team was impressive. Henry was the only player that showed up to play yesterday.

He's had a rough season, his confidence is low. Next season he'll be a fair bit better.

You act as if that's a rarity. The defense is supposed to save their teams, it's their job....

I know Spanish defending is behind by a few centuries but I mean no wonder so few can defend! They don't even know what they're supposed to do!

Ok, first off if we wanted to play defensivly than Diaby would have started centrally over Ljungberg (a man who can't even tackle), and Reyes wouldn't have even played.

We have a midfielder at leftback, and THREE fit defenders. THREE. You can't play a 10 man defense when you only have three defenders, it's impossible.

But of course, you're a Madrid fan, like i've said before, Real Madrid wouldn't know defense if it shat on their chest.

We had just as many shots on goal as you did, you had more shots wide but half of them were Carlos just knocking the **** out of the ball. We also had 3 offside calls, one of which was bull****.

I dont know how Madrid fans could think this would be anything more than a drubbing. Everytime Arsenal got forward they sliced your damn defence like a hot knife through butter. It easily could've been 2-0 within 8 minutes of the damn game! What makes you think you'll beat them at highbury? With that narrow pitch they'll just string you up with their passing and quick movement, something you've proven that you can't handle.

hasta la vista Madristas! Oh and that section of the Madrid crowd that started the monkey chants after Eboue(sp?) got fouled in the first half could rot in hell.

Edit: Henry was awesome, though. He deserves alot of respect for his performance.

You know thinking about it. Henry's goal was created solely by his talent. Saying the goal was a result of bad defending takes credit away from Henry. I think our defenders did what they could to stop him, but in that one moment he was unstoppable. Im felt no shame for my team being scored on by Henry. I just hope we can repay the favor in Highbury. See you in two weeks.

Granted, Arsenal put in a great performance yesterday, but the mere fact that you only won by a goal, despite having the easier time of it and dominating the (worthwhile) chances would make me somewhat nervous.

There is merit to the arguments that youre a good team at highbury, you'll have people coming back, youre going to be on a smaller pitch, etc etc. But the fact is Real learn quick from embarrasments like this...in the short run, anyway. Beckham has already come out and accosted them in the media. Im expecting them to go balls to the wall in a fortnight, and im not sure this cakewalk yesterday should tell you much.

Basically Real will have to come out gung ho in the next game and with a team that has such crap defence then that plays right into Arsenal's counterattack. I can see an even more exciting game in the next match and Arsenal has a huge advantage now since Real can't even afford to play defensively.

There is no question about it that we are not through yet. And REAL are still in this game. 2 goals at highbury and they are right back in it. I think Wenger will go with the same tactic as this game. Seeing as we are up by 1 REAL will be forced to go forward. While we will be counter attacking. BUT I think it will be more of a 4-4-2 but just MORE prcautions at the back. Oh yea and COle and Clichy might be back which would be a HUGE +
