when my club Athletic Bilbao tied 1-1 against Brazil on the year of our centenary and Brazil was getting ready for the WC and played all the stars...

When Bilbao finished 2nd in la liga in 1998 and we got to play the champions league.

the finish to the Man U-Munich CL final because that was just amazing and shocking.

Seeing Bergkamp score the goal for Holland against Argentina in the 1998 WC. I think it is the best goal I've ever seen. Amazing.

oops. never put saddest moments.

-For me it was when Argentina lost to Holland in 98.
-Having Montero miss the last shot last week against Milan and seeing his reaction (prob last final for him) was horrible.

-When Denmark beat Uruguay in 2002, i was just done

-Also Denmark's asswoopin of uruguay in 86, 6-1.....how embarasing.

-Manchester losing to Arsenal last year in Old Traford to lose the championship.

-Argentina tieing to Sweden :(

-I shed a tear when Nacional lost to Santos in the Libertadores a month ago in penalty kicks. after that huge comeback, we lose like that.

so much more, but thats all i can think of for now :mrpimp:

My most emotional Moments:

3. USA-Portual: I remember I had to literally pay my local sports bar owner to keep his bar open to show the game. Bars here close at 4am and the game was on at like 4:50 so he had no plans on showing the game. Well I paid him like 30 bucks and it was just me and him there. It was emotional because he saw me getting all excited and emotional when we scored our first three goals. He even got into the game himself. After we won we had a celebratory beer and he even gave me my money back. After that he kept his bar open for all USA matches that WC. Because of me (and 50 cent beer) that bar was packed for every match.

2. USA-Mexico: I take credit once again but the bar owner almost had to kick people out. The bar was packed with American and Mexican supporters. We chanted, taunted, and had a ball all in good fun. After we won there were no fights (for once). Just good nature sportsmanship.

USA-Germany: I was so heartbroken after this game. We had soooo many chances but nothing would work for us. The image of Captain America with the flag drapped over his neck brought tears to my eyes. I remember leaving that bar around 8am and seeing the majority of the guys and girls that had been in there watching the game with me sitting on the ground, standing against the walls just dejected. I never thought in a million years that I'd see men and women crying because the USA lost a soccer match. Which makes me happy. Look out in 2006, no matter what that bastid Gareth thinks.

oh yeah how could I forget that game. actually Rob Lee's goal was the equaliser. It was a screaming header and the whole just went into a bundle ... I thought the FA Cup was ours that season.

Felt awful after the game... but proud at the same time and listening to Dyer speaking after the game ... and wise Bobby giving his words of disapointment was really hard to take.

man this thread is making feel good about the game. Football is life ... well its my life anyway

my most memorable, and recent, soccer moments are:

5) The last WC qualifying game for Mexico against Honduras, it was a must win and we completely wiped the floor with them, 3-0.

4) In the 2001 Copa Libertadores final when Cruz Azul scored in Argentina against Boca Jrs and beat them to send it to penalties, no one expected this.

3) When Mexico defeated Brazil in the Confederations Cup to win their first ever international championship.

2) in the World Cup as Jared Borgetti scored that breath taking header against Italy in the World Cup

1) when i watched my team Toluca win the most recent Mexican league championship with a 4-1 score in the final, it was their 4th title in 6 years.

very good coments on this thread :D

my 1st memorable moment was in the 94 WC final...i was suporting italy and Baggio was my favourite player...i cried when he miss that penalty...it was my saddest birthday

in 1997 wen rui costa got a red card against Germany and we were winning 1-0...then they draw and we didn't went to france

the CL final in 99...it was amazing...no one would bet on Man U to win it that way

in october 99 for the first time i went to see a Portugal national team game...it was against Hungary, the last qualifying match for the euro 2000...we won 3-0...it was amazing!!!

in may 2000 when Sporting were champions...18 years after the last title...we won it:)

PORTUGAL vs ENGLAND when we were losing 2-0 i thought...were out of the cup already....but then Figo gave us hope with that strike...and that header from João Pinto...i was delighted...then in the second half Nuno Gomes scored the third and we won it....magnifique....lindo!!!!:)

PORTUGAL vs FRANCE we were doing great in holand...then we went to belgium...but still we scored first by Nuno gomes again...i was in a pub in Cascais...everybody was cheering up...then in the second half wiltord(i guess) scored the equalizer....but the worst moment was that penalty in extra time...it was just too hard to take it...a friend of mine was crying in my shoulder...when the game finished we went home...the streets were empty....still hurts...:(

in 2002 sporting were champions again...what a season we wave...we won the League and the cup...i remember being at Parque das Nações(the place of expo 98) and singing with the sporting team....WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!(this is probably my best moment):):)

in the day i went to parque das nações to celebrate the sporting title...inter lost the scudeto in the last day of the season..well..i like inter...but i LOVE SPORTING!!!

WORLD CUP 2002 the defeat against USA was shoking...but we deserv it....then we won to poland and hi was full of hope in the match against korea...still have no words for it...almost cried:(
