This young kid..
who now plays for benfica...
when he arrived at the scene wen he was 14, every of Europes top clubs were after him...
now we see him play for benfica at the age of 20 i guess.

In the final of the confederations cup against brazil, the coach didnt even feel he was good enough to come off the bench and help The usa do sumthing...

I believe he was the most hyped and talked about player who is going for a flush now...:clapwap:

what do you guys think eh????

I think Bob Bradley is an idiot for bringing in the likes of Conor Casey instead of a player who's infinitely better.

Honestly, he's still a boy. He's still growing physically and mentally. Jozy Alitdore was joking about how Freddy would laugh about growing an inch.

He isn't the second coming, he never was, but he's a player of great potential. If he develops well he could be an excellent player for the US for a long time to come.

Chill the **** out, he's 20 years old.

I find you one of the most ill tempered ill language user in the forums.
your acting like the typical american bad ass but trusty me it makes you look all the more a loser
especially the comments about michael Carlos*son you made in the other thread
If you cannot stand up for another american, you should be thrown out of your own country.
wannabe resident.:biggrinx:

anyways back to topic.
there must be a reason why benfica never opted to keep him for permanent basis and offlaoded hm to monaco on loan where he made just 9 sub appearances.

Make America Great Again
I'm sick of idiots in the forum. I've been here for 9 years without gaining any sort of reputation like you're describing; look at my sig for ****s sake. You make a stupid thread about "WHY ISN'T FREDDY ADU THE BEST EVA!?" and then get pissed when I say "calm down, he's only 20". Seriously, chill the **** out.

But then again, you registered a day an a half ago, so clearly you have a great handle on members of this message board. Tell me, oh wise, mature "YoMama_Punk", what do you do?

Nice, it's turned from a country into a cult.

Starting XI
I am sure that in 2 or 3 years he will be one of the most searched players in Europe. As you all know guys there are players who become mature enough at 18(reffering at their game) and others at 24,25 or even later!
One of the best forwards in the world at the moment, Adrian Mutu, became a leader at 26-27.Now at 30 he is in the best shape ever.
So, in conclusion, F.Adu-a promising young player -for now!

Forza Suarez! (ps brotha can you spare a dime?)
I don't think I'd go as far to say he's a flop, I just think people hyped him up to have more potential than he really had. It's like playing Football Manager and you find a young player or regen that looks really good for his age. You think he's got a lot of potential, like somewhere in the 180-190 range. But he doesn't progress as fast as you'd hoped, so you open up some editor and realize he's only got a potential of 145, and his current ability stands at 135, okay, but not great. I think that's an appropriate analogy for Adu, just a player who isn't as good, or doesn't have the potential that people think he has.

He was overhyped as a kid. Anyone remember the "... best 14 y-o on the planet" statements made about him? Maybe it's because he looks somewhat like Pele, they thought he would have been the next one.

I agree, he wasnt that good in the MLS, most players who leave the MLS for Europe have to earn it, Freddie didnt do that. My opinion is he is too small. I know there are small players in the world but he doesnt use his skill to compensate for his small body frame. When he played in the MLS he was always getting knocked off the ball and seemed to have attitude all of the time. He just isnt that good, at least not yet.

sorry but mutu wasn't really a leader at 26...
at 30 a leader and what?! It doesn't matter if you become a leader at the age of 30. What has he done before? He smoked weed and didn't give a sh!t on football! Now he realised that his career will end sometime and became a leader?
What he was waiting for? It doesn't mean anything if you become a leader at 30 and then play only 1-2 years in the big football! He'll probably end up in Qatar, Dubai etc. and the rest of his life he will leave standing on the tons of money he got doing nothing...Mutu has had a potential to be one of the best players of the world. But look where the imaturity gets you.

On: I don't think Freddy Adu will become a very big player. I think he will remain average. He's one of those who "born talent and end up hope" for me.
