The gameplay of FIFA RTWC maybe more realistic than WC 2002, But i think there's more fun in WC 2002. I don't know why some people very like FIFA98. I know its really very much better than FIFA97 (FIFA97 is very very bad) and you may have some great time in that period as i did. But i can't see why FIFA98 is better beside maybe more realistic gameplay. Can't you see that is very very much improvement in WC2002 now. For me this is the most fun football game i ever playing.

Well it's just because guys like me don't care about fancy graphics. Guys like me want a game that comes as close to the real thing as it can on a computer. We want a simulation. Guys like me played FIFA RTWC 98 (some of us still do) and now we play ISS or PES or whatever KCET game we can get in our hands just because it is that damn good! And EA:s newest creations aren't even close. And I still can't understand you guys who are satisfied with the fact that EA take away good features every year instead of improving. Come on guys. Try ISS, there is a link to download WE2002 in the ISS forum. Download it and try it. You won't be disappointed. I'm just saying this as a friend cause I actually don't give a damn if you keep playing that crap called FIFA. But if you tried ISS you'd stop play FIFA.

Yawn

Every season the same rants. it's getting so tedious.

look: EA reps won't listen. they read this, but they are laughing their asses of about so much stupidity. because rather than for once NOT buying the game because you KNOW it's going to be crap (it has been crap since 1999), on the first day you fools run to the store, buy it, and then complain about how much crap it is.

damn, EA really has you by the balls!

don't buy this ****e. let EA have it. let them look at their quarterly figures and say: "****. something went wrong in that soccer sector!"... then maybe they'll figure. everything else is expecting a company that wants profit and growth to become humble and nice, understanding the needs of you poor, poor fellows who want a decent soccer game.

wake up. or keep on sleeping, but then stop whining.

I have mastered the game on amature level and it is a lot of fun and is a slight improvement over the last one. However, the frustration is when you try to move up levels, the CPU cheats in every confrontation just as it did in the last game. The ball in the air, your defender is scripted to run in front of the attacker and is in no position to win the header, this is bad defending but it doesnt happen when its the other way round (I'm the attacker).
You can forget having a fullback when you need to defend, he always come's into midfield and there is nothing you can do about it. When you win the ball convincingly in a conservative or slide tackle, your control always seem to switch to another player leaving you frantically trying to switch back and allows the CPU time to recover. This is all cheating and I would prefer if the programers used speed to improve the CPU team rather than these.

I have play WE2000. I know its a very good game. Have realistic gameplay. Harder to score a goal. Very challenging. But its has much fun as a pure simulation football game. some time its make some frustation but that is the way a pure simulation football game should be. And in the other way WC2002 is more enjoyable. Less frustation if you not paying at proffesionall level and up. I know you hope a pure simulation game from FIFA too but i think EA change their direction in making football game more for enjoyable and had arcade style in it. Maybe because they avoid to have a direct competition with WE in pure simulation football genre. You know japanesse is very good in making game. But i think WC 2002 is good if you just hoping a fun and enjoyable game and not a pure simulation football game. I by myself playing WC2002 at amateur level and faster mode. Its fun. Just change to profesional level when computer ask it.

Dont you think its a little bit too early to praise WC2002. I mean its same thing everytime a new FIFA game comes out: they rave the hell out it. Then 2 weeks later its back to the boards making wishlists for FIFA2003. Its been like that every single year and I doubt this year is gonna be different:rolleyes:

The problem with EA's FIFA games is that, from 1998, they stopped getting better...they changed, but did not really improve.

The PES series has always got better each year and is now a few years ahead of FIFA, offering far more complex and satisfying gameplay. Mind you, PES is still far from perfect and has a lot of annoying "glitches" in the gameplay which seem to crop up again year after year. But it's always a better game that you get each year.

There are still many people who like FIFA but it's clear that one of EA's main tactics is to play up the gimmicky side of things.....all the official licenses, snazzy graphics and "special" moves and tricks that the players can perform. These things seem to attract a particular audience(mainly the kiddies, I guess) but the gameplay lacks depth. I wonder how well the game would sell without the gimmicks.

Every new FIFA release, I eagerly download the demo, genuinely hoping EA have finally produced a decent game but every time, I am disappointed. Maybe someday, they will finally make a genuine step forward.

But I'm glad that FIFA exists as it provides competition for PES, which is a good thing. It also gives something to compare PES against and at the moment, PES is clearly better.

Yes, its maybe too early too praise WC 2002. There are many wishlist already out for FIFA 2003. But so far i dont found something that really iritating in FIFA 2003 like computer longshot goal in FIFA 2002 that make me have no chance to defence.

yeah that was realy annoying

the ONLY thing the realy pist me off in wc2002, was the fact that sometimes the player seems to have a mind of his own !
like when it was a sure thing that the cpu player will get the ball, i tryed to run on the other side to block him from getting near the goal keeper, but instead my player was trying so hard to get to the ball!!!

beside that wc2002 is a fantastic ARCADE soccer game.

I have to say that I've tried out winning eleven on my fren's PS machine. It's quite good and challenging. Well, since there aren't any good soccer games on PC and I CANNOT afford a console, i'll have to make do with what i have......

Btw, could you please explain further, i'm not really good at these emulator kinda things. Sorry to trouble
;)

That's not hard, you'll see

Just download the 1.5.1 version of the emulator on that page ( at least this is the version I have ), download the plugins ( all at the same time, they have a file which contains all ), and find the bios ( scph1001.bin ) around the net and there you go. Just run the emulator, configure the plugins for video, sound, cd, etc ( the program will take you through the configuration automatically ), copy the bios file to the bios folder into the emulator's folder and you've got it ready. :)

But for getting the game running nice you must have a good pc and a good 3d card.

Cheers

wow wow wow....

hold it a minute. i'm lost. first, where do you get the plugins? second, is there any risk involved in downloading the bii've already downloaded the emulator....:D

Here is the plugins page

On this page you'll find a " complete plugins pack " which most contain plugins of video, sound, cd, etc etc that you would need to configure epsxe:

http://www.psxfanatics.com/pafile/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=58

The bios part I guess you would need to browse around to find, because I think it can't be posted here ( rules of the forum ), but if you search in altavista, yahoo, or whatever the word " scph1001 " or " scph1001.bin " I think you would find the bios. :)

Cheers
