Your first WE8 Impressions

whoa... just noticed something
was playing co-op with a friend using Greece vs England (I'm an England supporter, but hey), only on 2 stars.
after our 2nd goal against Eng, Eng made a sub that impressed me a lot -- they subbed gary neville out, and put heskey up front alongside rooney and good old mike (i checked the formation screen after seeing the "strange" sub of a striker replacing a defender), resulting in a 3-4-3 formation!
intelligent work there konami, most impressed...

just had my first disallowed goal.. WHY does konami have to be so realistic!!!?

But I must correct my own impression.
My first impression was that the slowdown at the penalty area is not that bad. My second impression is different: Last night I completely mis-timed on a CPU-cross, because the ball took longer to get to my defender. Result: I timed too early and my player was already going down from jumping, and the cpu scored with a header.

Wow, Han, what's up with you these days? you seem very critical... (just kidding)
anyways. i was wondering about the long range shots... how are they compared to earlier versions? i do not have WE, but in PES3 it didn't seem possible to perform a powerful low shot (at least to me)... either blocked or up the ranks...
oh, and another one: is the CPU still megastrong in injury time?
can't wait to get that game no matter what..and this time around I am back to PS2... i am so tired of PES3 (PC)...

Shooting in general is more difficult. My idea is that it is far more depended on the player-stats. A weak shooter hit the roof and a strong shooter really hit it well and if you want, LOW
The CPU is megastrong from, say, 30 minutes from time and what is really nice, it does tactical changes. He takes a defender off and replaces him by an attacker

yeah i read that... sounds cool.. unlike PES3, which i gave yet another shot last night playing a pre-season friendly (AS Roma vs Real Madrid):
first of all the CPU put R. Carlos on right wing (sure
)... then Figo was subbed with David Beckham who then played left (yep!)... and Ronaldo came in 10 minutes before the end of the match (which ended 0-0, five stars)...

I just got WE8 woohooo, But i'm not that pleased with the game yet, I've only played one game so far Real VS Barca (I was Real), and won the game 2-0. But the speed was way too fast, didn't like the speed at all.
But I'll play the game much more when the English patch comes out, and I'm sure that I'll be very pleased with the game, when all the names and so on are in Englinsh. But as it is now, I won't play the game that much.

I said that I WILL play the game much more when the English patch comes out! And I'm STILL playing the game atm, but I won't play it that much right now. Only because all the names and stuff are in Japanese!!
And I didn't write all the good stuff of the game because it's already mentioned.
But there is no doubt in my mind, This is the GAME!!

Yea.. but to shoot like WE7 you have to press and hold R2 and shoot with [ ].
U can use [ ] only for inside of the box shots.
I was able to score first time volleys when the ball was in the air with Keane from outside of the area in my first match. And another goal with Scholes from outside the area. I feel much more comfortable shooting.
*But the slowdowns is really pissing me off*
//Edit It seems turning off the stadium effects reduces slowdowns. Using the default camera view also helps. (I usually use the wide camera view but it seems to have slowdowns in WE8)
I hate the lightings that are in WE8. Sometimes the players with black hair look like they're bald because of the lightings. The lightings look abit better during the night than the day. But seriously, they shouldn't have implented it. Or atleast have tried lessening the effect. Probably, people like Mouta(spl??) will be happy.
The fact that players have to stop slightly when changing direction is a great addition to the gameplay. It makes the game much more realistic. Passing is improved. And lots more.
