not really into this catogorie cause it wasnt really a shot.. but the other team had the ball, and this guy who could kick really hard and well had possesssion, before he struck with mighty power i slid to stop and the ball went in.. my teammates were saying that the ball wasn't even going to go near the goal... lol

my most embaressing miss was in an indoor game i was like one on one with the keeper and he didnt come off his line so i just placed a cheeky and slow shot past him with my right foot it came back off the post then i hit it with my left foot and it hit the outside of the post and there goes the scoring chance

it was a cross from a midfielder (attacking my side). I was the last man.the ball bounce and bounce and bounce.I thought i had under control but the ball bounced between my legs and my keeper did not expect that to happen to me.By the time he noticed it wastoo late and the ball when into the goal.

cross came in from the left guy called for the leave next to me so i left
he hit staight into the keeper fell bouncing to me and with no concentration hit it
i had the whole goal or at least 7/8 ths at my mercy from about 8 yrs out

I have a habbit to end the seasons to misses of the season.
Last game of last season I missed an open goal from a yard out, Our striker made a run from the right and I went forward and I just expected the pass to come sooner and just as he passed a defender pushed me a bit and I didnt even almost react to the ball when It went inches from my foot and all I had to do was to stretch the foot few inches forward. That was embarrasing.
The season before that it was the most important match of the season as if we had lost we would have been relegated so there was not many chances and it ended 0-0 and we were in the clear.
The best opportunity came for me when our striker went forward from the right and took a few defenders with him and the goalie also was out. From the line he passed a perfect backpass and I saw it was bit bumpy and hit the ball almost perfectly in my own opinion and it went over the crossbar. I was well gutted after that one.
Well gives me a reason to improve for next seasons always.

i was dribbling beat the last defender
1-1 with the gk....
and took one too many steps and the GK swept the ball from my feet
felt like a total idiot after that

i'm a keeper, but i've had my share of Barthez moments...
One game, in the New York Tournament of Champions, it was a semifinal, and we were down 1-0 with about 10 minutes left to play. We had lots of people forward so they kept clearing the ball. Well this one kid kicked the ball from a bit behind the half line, and it bounced at the 18. Yeah easy, I got it. I'm out at the penalty line, with the ball bouncing 6 yards ahead of me. We're on a very good pitch, soft grass but not mush, very well groomed field, so I figure the ball will take a soft "thud" bounce and come straight to my hands. Well I was wrong. Instead the ball took a hard bounce, about 15 feet in the air, and dropped behind me and into the net
We lost 2-0. Anyways, I played really good that game, I stopped 2 penalties, so I can't really be to blame there.

i never really had any but last season my team was tied 1-1 and i got a perfect ball right infront of the net and i had no pressure..i had at least 3 secs that i could have taken to control but instead i went for power and blasted it over the bar..wasnt embarressing, just a bad miss where i should have hit the net. if i had that ball now i would have buried it in the back of the net
my worst ever was an own goal, not only one, but two!! was against our rivals, and we where up 2-0, but then i started the "magic" 10 min to go, and a corner kick for them, i had full controll, they had not a single player near me, so i was going to head it controlled back to the keeper, but my kepper tought i was going to clear it, so it went in the net
the second one was a bad shot from the other team, the keeper had full control but i managed to kick the ball, and i missed the ball so it just changed direction, up in the corner, actually a nice goal!!!
the score ended at 2-2 and they won the league because of that score

well, as the game was nearing the end, we were tied 2-2 with our arch rivals from across the river (this is High School). they had just scored and our morale was kind of low, so i wanted to be the savior . our top striker took the ball on the left wing, and as he made his run, all of us pushed up (i play right wing). our striker is very very good, so naturally he demanded lots of attention. as he pulled 2 defenders on him, i was left more or less alone on the far side of the post.
as soon as he got to about the corner flag, he spun and passed it to me in the most perfect was possible. the ball bounced once and placed itself almost magically on my right foot, and i let it all rip. i swear to god i thought my leg was going to fly off. I was about 5-6 feet away from the goal. since it was so close, and i hit that son of a bitch so hard, i didn't have time to react, and wouldn't you know it, that round pice of **** comes right back at me. the ball hits the post, and comes back right at my nuts. i don't know if i was red from the embarassment or the pain, but at that point i didnt care

I've fortunately never had an embarrassing miss since I'm always either a defender or 'keeper.i had a bad miss in my last game
a teammate was dribbling from left to right at an angle across the box, i made an overlap from the right to the left. he drew 2 defenders because he has amazing dribbling skills, leaving me wide open. he layed off a beautiful backheel which took a deflection to me, so the ball was on a bounce, i was about 10-12 feet away from the net and i skied the volley
luckily we won 4-2 and i got an assist but the miss really pissed me off

The levels I've played on are absolute crap compared to some of you all, but oh well, here goes. Last semester, Im signed up for a 5v5 college league, and i did ok the first game, embarrassed a few people, but they were pretty amateur. Second game (and i didnt know it at the time but a girl I had just started seeing was there with a friend watching) i get there late. Then the first time i get near the ball, i slide tackle the defender on the just inside the box. I got it clean, but thats an automatic foul with the rules they play but my idiocy went unpunished, cause my buddy saved the pen. Next, they played in a corner, and lord all farking mighty, i recieve it, and bam, own goal. Anyway, we got buried like 5-0, but late in the match, i had to humilaite myself one more time, so i skied the ball about 50 feet over the bar from about THIRTY feet from goal. Needless to say, i got no loving from that girl, but hey, thats nothing new for me
