Wow, I guess my prediction of 3 or 4 wins, at the beginning of the season, was a bit off. Maybe we'll be able to catch the condoms off guard?

ShiftyPowers;2448050 said:Nice long post. Totally wrong however. Fiesta didn't choose Oklahoma, they are required to take the Big 12 Champion if that team does not play for the National Title. The BCS Bowls which lose teams to the National Title Game (this year, it was the Sugar Bowl and the Rose Bowl) gets to pick their replacement teams first. However, the first Bowl to select a replacement cannot take the runner up for the conference which has the #2 team in the BCS without consent. Therefore, the Rose Bowl needed the Sugar Bowl's consent to pick Georgia, and the Sugar Bowl did not give that consent. Rose Bowl picked Illinois for the Big Ten vs. Pac 10 match up. Next, the Sugar Bowl picked Georgia. Then there is the at large selection rotation. This year the Orange Bowl picked first, and they took Kansas (for whatever reason). Second, the Fiesta Bowl picked West Virginia. Next, the Sugar Bowl was required to pick Hawaii, since it was a mid-major which cracked the top 12 in the BCS. That's the system. Every other team was an auto tie-in from winning their conference (i.e. Big 12 Champ to the Fiesta, ACC Champ to the Orange, SEC Champ to the Sugar, and the Big Ten and Pac 10 Champs to the Rose).
