Inferiority is normal, however, in some people inferiorty feelings can become excessive, resulting in what is widely known today as an inferiority complex-exaggerated feelings of weakness and inadequacy. Either parental pampering or parental neglect could cause an inferiority complex. Thus, early childhood experiences are important. Inferiority feelings can pervert the normal process of striving for superiority. Some people engage in overcompensation to conceal, even from themselves, their feelings of inferiority. Instead of working to master life's challenges, people with an inferiority complex work to achieve status, gain power over others, and acquire the trappings of success (fancy clothes, impressive cars, or whatever looks important to them). They tend to flaunt their success in an effort to cover up their underlying inferiority complex."
No i did not look that up in the dictionary, i knew that off the top of my head, i was just tested on that in psychology and i think it's just a little to random to just learn that and meet a live example, not intended by my proffesor.
