Mandieta6 you are so much better than me at this arguing business. From now on, Mandieta6 speaks for both of us.

Oh and tits.
We should sign Affelay. We need a speedy and creative dribbler while he ensures RvP stays. They love each other on and off the pitch.

Oh and tits.
Reports say we are signing Giroud with Chamakh going the other way. Good one if it iz ze truz. Just don't let him be RvP's replacement.

Definitely not being signed as a replacement and it seems very likely now. I guess that we'll be letting Vela, Chamakh and Park leave now. Solid backup option, been a while since Arsenal had one.

Hoping thats how it would turn out. It is also said that he wants Arsenal ahead of big money offers from Malaga,QPR:md: etc and not afraid to compete with Robin for a starting place. That is rather positive and us signing Giroud and Poldi then move on Chamakh,Bendtner,Vela and Park would be some top stuff. I guess our forward position would be completely sorted and we won't have to look to the heavens when RvP gets tackled or on the floor :D.

Holland's abysmal performance has given you a significantly better chance of keeping RVP I feel.

Probably........... He might realise how awful it is to play football without a midfield or defense. No matter how much Sneijder tries he can't copy Alex Song with those perfect lobbed passes.I personally feel more grateful to have Theo after watching Arjen Robben recently. No matter what people say Kos,Sagna,Vermaelen,Gibbs,Santos,Per aren't Wiel,Heiting,Mathijsen,Vlaar or Willems. Arteta is so much better than De Jong and the shadow of Van Bommel put together.

Seriously though... it might sound not very pragmatic and more emotional but he would have seen how one set of fans literally worship him and the other want him to sit on the bench for Huntelaar(with all due respect he is a clown). He doesn't look the super confident captain Vantastic as well in a different shirt. He looked so incredibly desperate and under pressure when chances came to him.

I am grateful for what he has done in the season past in very difficult circumstances and under such incredible pressure. I remember in the home game against Dortmund he went down holding his ankle and the crowd went silent. He stood up and the crowd were cheering again(some clapping even)...the look on his face lol.....I really felt sorry for him that time. But he should acknowledge that Arsenal have done more as they have been patient with his injuries. We showed faith in him and gave him a chance when he was said to be "difficult to handle".

It seems like we are trying to strengthen as well which hopefully isn't patching up for his departure. If that is the case he has to stay and be patient in the same way Arsenal have been with him.

hah, Arnau, Sir_Didier_Drogba thinks you are Vermaelen (H) ...

on topic: guess we know which Arsenal player Barça will target next (as an alternative solution to Thiago Silva, I expect?) ...

I feel like Arsenal would be fine with that to be honest. Vermaelen gets caught out of position a LOT.

I agree his actual defending could be better but I don't think we need another headache and don't think we will have one tbh. He will surely stay. We still need another CB even if Vermaelen stays but its not biggest deal for us atm.

I think if we get M'vila and switch to 4-3-3 it could help to cover Vermaelen's positioning issues. If Yann sits in the space ahead of the cbs they can position themselves a little bit wider helping Sir Ches to distribute and cover for the forward going full backs without having to worry about that space. What happens is that opponents play passes in that area and the cbs rush out of position to make a clown out of themselves. Also having Yann in deep midfield instead of two players players who particulary aren't the best at "protecting" would be better for us in an offensive sense(M'vila's good passing without dithering and instant control) and also pressuring the opposition in their half as soon as we lose the ball. Would take A LOT of pressure of the CBS from having to distribute too.

A decent left full back who can recover to his position and can make good decisions as in when to bomb forward and when to hold would help.

Vermaelen will still make mistakes like not being able control his hard on and challenge for a ball when he has no need to or bombing forward. The problem is that he is so confident and when he makes a mistake he completely loses his head. Like when one believes in something but that delusion breaks...he can't recover immediately. He can learn that from Per and Kos(he can teach him about positioning and timing).

bdw, I hope that if we get M'vila....Wenger doesn't try to recreate him as a creative, winging, full backing, offensive defensive midfielder given his great control and passing range.

I am a bit worried about....

#the full back situation-Sagna's injury and Gibbs/Santos being wingers. Jenks should be on loan. I like Gebre Selassie but don't know about lb.

#lack of creativity-Rosicky sacrificed himself for his ****ry. We either need a creative player in midfield or wide. I have my doubts about how Podolski and Theo either side of the striker would work without someone playing them through.

Guess we would have to spread the responsibility among Arteta,Song,Rosicky and Wilshere. Rosicky,Carlos and Arteta mostly force play or move off the ball to create space. Song is the only one with a through ball.
