Arsenal- Man U the rivalry

Yea, Spurs are a crap rival, i don't even think it'd be funny if someone soaked their locker room in piss like Ian Wright did....the whole locker room, Arsenal won 3-1 by the way.

I don't think the Arsenal / Man United rivalry is very big at all. Some people perceive it to be bigger than it actually is because of the way recent seasons have finished.

Arsenal winning the league by winning at Old Trafford in 01/02 for example. The personal thing between Keown and Van Nistelrooy, the comparisons made between Patrick Vieira and the Roy Keane of old.

I would still much rather see Tottenham get stuffed than Man United, though. Man United are our main rivals in terms of trophy-winning chances now ... but if Arsenal don't win things, I don't care who does as long as it isn't Tottenham!

Not anytime soon I won't (H) Afterall, Hoddle is still there for a start. And they still have a "starting 11" who very few people can name

I seriously don't think I could name 8 Tottenham players right now because... well, they just suck basically and don't make names for themselves :crazyboy:

Hoddle is getting there, slowy but surely. He seems to be getting some backing from the board now (thank god) with the imminent signing of Postiga. Oh... and we don't really have a starting 11... there are too many :f***:injuries:f***: to play the same team week in, week out!

Add to that the s**t Arse*al are in with their Ashburton Grove plan and the future's bright, the future's lilywhite... (H)

put me under an UNTRUE fan list, because I don't give a ratsy about matches vs Tottenham.
Tottenham don't even talk smack. They just show up and take their ass-whupping.

At least ManU run their mouths before they come for their beating.

U damn right LOL:rockman:

No, Spurs' best ever player was probably Jimmy Greaves or Dave Mackay, although Klinsmann is well up there too.

Wrong! Teddy Sheringham (H) :mrpimp: :p
btw I dont think there is some sort of rivalry between the two teams and if there is.. it will simply all disappear if one of the two teams wont be title challengers.. so arsenal are more like our main title challenger...
What made me hate them most is Arsene Wanker :| and the way the team started showing some arrogance after winning the league in 2002 and thinking they are the best in the world
They are more like the most premiership team hated by man utd supporters.. not rivals!
I think our biggest rival is still liverpool..

Hell yeah - just look at last season's fixtures. Liverpool vs. Manchester United at Anfield and the reverse fixture at Old Trafford had electric atmospheres. Both sets of supporters were willing their teams on, and held their breath as the opposition attacked. Compare that to the game at Highbury, where we all had our calculators out after each goal(and I use that term loosely to describe Henry's effort):D
But I just love the feeling of beating the likes of Liverpool, City and Arsenal, with Liverpool right at the top of that list. Once Arsenal return to mid-table mediocrity, it almost certainly will not be that great a rivalry.

Precisely mate. If Arsenal were not title rivals they would not be rivals at all, but it doesn't matter where Liverpool or City are in the league beating them is more important than just 3pts.

But they actually beat United....Spurs drew with Arsenal and that was fooking grand for them.

We need someone that can make running our mouths fun, plus you guys are fun to wind up ;)

maybe you can now tell us why Liverpool and ManU are rivals.
I hope you don't say because they WERE title rivals in the past because that would make your Arsenal argument a whole heap of .....

Man, you just can`t compare the intensity between Man U - Liverpool rivalry, with Man U - Arsenal rivalry. The rivalry with Liverpool has been goin` on for decades, while Arsenal gives us lots of troubles only for the last five or six years. Manchester and Liverpool are the football capitals of England, where the great history happens, where the legends born. The rivalry is as classic as Madrid - Barca, Boca _ River Plate, etc. Liverpool is our true and eternal rival without a doubt.

First of all, Anfield is a lot closer to Old Trafford than you might think. But that's not the main reason behind it. Unless I am very much mistaken, Liverpool relegated us in the playoffs at the end of the 1893/94 season. That sowed the seeds for a rivalry which has continued to grow. However, my analysis could be incorrect and I invite any other United fan to correct it:D
