Just keep disrespecting the guy in the name of wacky football logic like you guys are doing. Liverpool and inter were ****e when we beat them, were they?..so by this amazing logic it must mean that when anybody loses a match it was simply because they were crap. When he wasnt scoring tap-ins it was because he wasnt a poacher, therefore not a good striker and all that nonsense, when he does everyone including 8 year old sisters can do the same so this says something about his quality as a player.
You guys just seem to move the goalpost at will, you sit there, handpick the best player in the team even when hes had another very productive season and start nitpicking this, that and any other nonsense. When he scores and we win against high profile teams, its not a big game, but the game he doesnt score in or we happen to lose is a big game. When he doesnt score its because he was outclassed by this defender or that, but when he does it was because they were rubbish. What about when Sheva and any of the "big game" players are banging hattricks against perugia, lecce and these other types of teams but then again these are the teams that would be winning the championship here in england b'cos of the calibre of their league. BTW does all the chances he creates for others to score when he doesnt, constitute part of playing well? by that reasoning then it must have been years ago that ronaldo played well,he hardly does anything else other than score, doesnt he?
Would it matter if arsenal had been progressing in europe without henry scoring many goals, cos no matter how bad we may be hes still always our highest goalscorer in most competitions, including in the CL. Then its that thierry doesnt fight to regain possession in a game, you must not have been watching the EPL arsenal, cos if you had been you'd have noticed the amount of times he goes turbo chasing after the ball looking like the roadrunner on speed. Then his attitude is terrible, after one incedent, because he was frustrated at a teammate, obviously the sight of players remonstrating with colleagues is such an unheard and unseen phenomenon in football, honestly he makes Vieri's antics look like childsplay.
You should get rid of your Henry signature before making a post such as this.
I don't want to knit-pick through every sentence you wrote, but, from now on, please accurately respond to what I have said, instead of twisting what I have said.
I never said he was crap. I never said he never plays well. I never said he doesn't do more than score goals -- he does a hell of a lot more. I never said he doesn't chase to regain possession in the EPL; in fact, I even said that he does do that, then, just not in the big competitions, at least not with the same regularity (don't use tactics as an argument, on this one, because that has little to do with the situations I'm talking about).
I never said he scores crap goals, or only tap-ins. Actually, I'd like him to be able to score more poacher-like tap-ins.
I never handpicked any games; the people on your side were handpicking the games. I merely pointed out that a 5-0 win, and a 5-1 win, including a hattrick, lead into my argument, perfectly. If those were 3-2 games, or games where Arsenal were against the ropes, then I'd have nothing. We saw the games, though, and that is where my case rests.
Henry played brilliant in that game against Inter. That was also a big game. Did Inter show up, after we'd put a couple by them? You can decide. His long-run and set-up to Edu, reminiscent of an EPL performance, was great. But . . . I can't recall anything close to that in any 'big game'.
He sets up a ton of goals. He scores a ton more. He takes on and makes defenders look silly. He scores from set-plays. He doesn't show up when it really matters, that's all.
By the way, just as you can play brilliantly and not score -- your point -- you can also play shockingly and score -- my point.
I don't get what you mean with the Serie A comments. However, I do believe Sheva is a more valuable striker than Henry, same with RvN, and other strikers. Henry can outshine anyone, on his day, and against the right opponents, I am still waiting to see him shine on a bigger stage.
"After one incident". Yes, that's what I said. I am basing everyone on one incident. I watch pretty much every Arsenal league game, and most of their CL games. I also watch France at the WC and Euro.
The fact that he shows frustration with his teammates does not bother me, relatively. The negative way in which he does it, the
games in which he does it this way, and the moments in those games in which he does it are what get to me.
He is our highest goalscorer -- yes. Please note my previous comments, his number of relative appearances, his position, his ability, and his role.
Keep in mind, I am an Arsenal fan, too.
