calm down, its a matter of time to get some good results. Roma dominate cagliari and deserve to win, even with ten men. You have a lot of new players and new coach, it may take a time to adapt.

There's no such thing as "deserved to win". You win when you score more goals than opponent. Football is just that simple.

Cagliari, as expected, were completely outshot and outpossessed, before and after the red ... the only reason it wasn't 2 or 3-0 by the hour mark was coz Agazzi made some ridiculous saves to keep the shots on target out ...

basically, I agree with Arnau: have patience ...

there were NINE Serie A debuts out there for Roma today ... 9! from the coach, to the keeper, to the foward line, and everywhere in between ... once this new system is bedded in, and the new coach and players are too, the rewards will come ...

I've patience Xifio, as u can see I didnt type anything about L.Enrique but only rated the single players in a single match, of course as Thomas Di Benedetto sayd: "Roma wasnt build in one day"......

Watching Roma last weekend i figure where Lamela would play. He fits perfectly on Totti's position but i don't like Bojan in right wing and Osvaldo wide, Nilmar was better for this role; Osvaldo is the perfect striker to play a 4-2-3-1 but has problems to share the attack or play wide.

Lamela on the right, Osvaldo center and Bojan in left side it's the best option right now IMO, then when everyones is adapted Lucho could try Lamela false 9 or 10 (Totti) and Bojan + Osvaldo wide.

EDIT: I disagree with those who thinks Bojan is just a poacher.

....somebody told me: Osvaldo is amazing! who? you! but he cant play wide-

edit-i never type that bojan is a poacher, who did it?

Perrotta RWB, Taddei LWB?!!

LUCHOO! (H)

EDIT:

Daniele De Rossi playing in a 'modern interpretation Libero' role! love it! I really want to see this to work!

Team Captain
Goal.com:

"CK easily dealt with, Roma break but lose possession and Cambiasso puts the ball over the top for Lucio, but great save by Stekelenburg who takes a knee to the temple and is knocked clean out!! taking medical attention now, play stopped"

"concerned faces from Lucio most of all, lengthy stoppage and Bogdan Lobont from Steaua Bucherest on for the injured keeper, let's hope nothing serious" ??

Hope he's ok.

^ amazing commitment from Maarten ... he didn't go unconscious immediately, which is always a good thing ... he blinked (looking straight at the TV camera), laid down on his back, and then passed out ... hopefully he doesn't have a broken neck or something, coz he could be crucial for Roma this season ...

the De Rossi "21st century Beckenbauer" experiment is impressing me so far ...

if you like tactics, you should be watching this match ...

For some reason that kind of choaches do this often. Bielsa play Gurpegui and De Marcos as fullbacks and Guardiola J.Dos Santos.

It's not an experiment, it's a tactic to create superiority in that zone and start the attack there. Roma (this style of football) start to build the attack with a short pass of the GK to the CB. This is taught in la masía and Busquets it's the master at it.

yup, that's a good short summary of the use of the libero ...

exactly ... De Rossi did not go through La Masía ... and Franco Baresi was a Milanista ...

if the first time he is given such a role is in a big match against Inter, it is an experiment ... and the experiment was a resounding success! :bouncy: can't wait to see more of this for Roma, and maybe even Prandelli's Azzurri ...

---

Simon Kjær had an excellent debut, with masterly positioning and reading of the game ... that brilliant block on Sneijder's goal-bound shot may be the highlight, but his work throughout the match was just superb ...

60% ball possession for Roma, but they failed to convert it into goal-scoring chances ... Osvaldo has to take most of the blame for that, who's movement was too hesitant, too laboured, or both ...

but so many encouraging signs for Lucho's Roma! that was an absorbing, intriguing match from a tactical viewpoint (Y) ...
