Ok so Ballack has left, Podolski came in but Podolski plays as a CF, so who will play the vacant midfield position? Scholl? Karimi? Dos Santos?

Good German players are rare. Borowski would be too expensive, in the 15 million range.

Magath's planning to switch to a 4-3-3 so three strikers can be on the pitch at the same time, maybe Santa Cruz or Podolski a bit deeper.

That's what Hoeness, Magath etc. say ... I think we're going to sign a young midfielder like that Kahlenberg guy that's available for under 10 million.

Yesterday, a Spanish (Catalan) newspaper “Sport” , published that FC Barcelona would consider Makaay as an option to replace Larsson.

I think that’s nonsense, but anyway im a little worried since many players left the team, and until now only Podolski has arrived. I mean, replacing Ballack wont be easy, and im not to confident on the Paraguay Dos Santos.

I think next year, the Bundesliga will be more competitive and Bayern will struggle a lot more than this season, and Champions League will be same or worst than this year.

Yeah he did but he's dispensable if the right offer comes in.

yea i agree with that. i think podolski is more than we need to replace makaay in my opinion. anyways we will get another player before the window closes.

What's the deal on Karimi (or the "Asian Maradona" as some of you put it)? Will you guys be extending his contract? Because honestly, I can't see Karimi playing a significant role in your fight for the Champions League title.

I have only seen videos of the guy and he doesnt seem bad, i dont know why bayern dont play him but he is still a part of the team and can offer alot.

He has a contract until 2007 and with already three midfielders gone he will stay. He was a useful squad player before his long injury break, Magath likes his versatility and ability to handle the ball.

Haha, it's not like we're gonna stand a chance against the likes of Chelsea or Barca, at least not with Magath's offensive minded tactics against strong teams.

We wont compete in Europe if the whole club doesnt change their attitude, i mean, Uli Hoeness recently stated that Bayern may never win the Champions League, because lack of funds.

Bayern are trying to build themselves a reputation for being an underdog i guess. thats the only reason why magath and uli hoeness would talk bad about bayern. lowering their expectations in champions league can maybe help them against bigger teams but it will look bad on the team to begin looking like a mediocre european side which bayern arent, i think they are one of the top clubs in europe. couple of bad runs in champs league doesnt determine how good you are. back 2 back doubles says it all

lol just cuz you guys didnt get podolski, you dont have to come in here and talk about what happened in champs league, i know you have been disoriented from the sheva transfer and i see he is not in your sig anymore, so i dont blame you for coming in here and talking about the good memories you had. Belgian press reports suggest that Bayern are going to unveil van Buyten tomorrow shortly before the opening game. The transfer fee will be around €11M.

Meanwhile Hamburg also annoucne the signing of a new player tomorrow: Vincent Kompany for 8 million.

Talk about making your opponents better. :kader:
