Champions League - Last Sixteen - 2007/2008

Sevillista

Starting XI
Assuming a good, clean match (no red cards, no injuries, no cheap goals given away), we will win. I'm sure of it. Once we take a match home, knowing we need to score, it's just inevitable. Once the crowd starts singing our Centenary theme before kick-off, the party will have started.

This is the wrong time to be a Chelsea opponent. They can smell blood right now. You really wouldn't want to be running into them from this point on, in the tournament. Whoever's playing them, this week, is as good as done.

We aren't sharks you know, lol. I think we're capable of beating anybody in Europe if we are at our best, the thing I do worry about is Avram's team selection, cause he got it horribly wrong in the Carling Cup final. Against West Ham, it appeared that he got it right, the team was playing much fluently and lets hope he sticks to his guns against Olympiakos.

Btw, I have a sneaky feeling that Milan's game against Arse would go to penalties. I could see Sevilla having a hard time against their Turkish opponents, i'll sit on the fence for that one.

There are 2 clubs in the CL right now with an "edge" to them RIGHT NOW, which makes them dangerous opponents....Man United and Chelsea.

With Inter's loss yesterday you can almost see them unleashing on one team. In some ways, it's good that we're not playing them this week or there's a good chance it would be us(might still be us anyways). Having said that, I'd rather get this game out of the way asap, while we have some resemblance of a team on a winning streak....sure we've won 3 straight, but have hardly looked convincing in the latter 2.

should be another good night of Champions League football ...

my boys should see off the Celts easy ... and Milan should get it done against the Arse ...

I'd have liked to have said that "I hope Lyon come out attacking, coz I'd love to see them go through" ... but I just don't see it happening ... same goes for Fener, though I think their game against Sevilla might still be the pick of the fixtures tonight in terms of entertainment ...
Sounds crazy considering the other matchups, but you may be right. The first leg was scintillating.

Milan 2 - 1 Arsenal
ManU 3 - 0 Lyon
Barca 2 - 0 Celtic
Sevilla 3 - 1 Fener

Yellow Card
Sevilla 2:0 Fenerbahce (2 away goals means easy for home team)
Barcelona 2:1 Celtic (early fight, but eventually wall broken)
Man United 3:0 Lyon (a bottle of fine Bordeaux will be going to Jean-Michel Aulas, and not in the opposite direction)
Arsenal 1:2 AC Milan<-------I want them OUT! :(

Starting XI
At half-time:
Sevilla 3 - 1 Fenerbahce
Barca 1 - 0 Celtic
ManU 1 - 0 Lyon
Milan 0 - 0 Arsenal

Absolutely exhilerating match between Sevilla and Fener. If you're a neutral fan, I highly recommend you switch to this game. Opportunities galore at both ends.

VAMOS MI SEVILLA!!

The referee in Milan - Arsenal game is a retard. He gave Helb a yellow card for diving as he was clattered from behind right on the edge of the penalty area

Agreed that should have been a penalty!

The match is great so far, both teams trying to attack and Arsenal playing a very nice passing game in the later parts of the first half... 2nd half will start soon.

Wow, what a first half by Arsenal. They deserve to be up. I was pissed cause I couldn't watch the Barca - Celtic game. But this looks like a hell of a game.

3-2 for sevilla at the moment, if it ends like its it will be extra time.
Very good match indeed, I also watching Man Utd-Lyon at the same time and i can easily say Sevilla-Fener game is much more enjoyable to watch , i hope it will end with Fener qualification :)

Make that 2-0 Arsenal, Walcott evaded the tackle of Kaladze and squared it across for Adebayor to tuck home at the far post. Arsenal through!!

At least that gives Fifa one less reason to scam the world player award to Kaka, who knows, judging on how they love Brasilians, they mite of give it Pato if Milan got far enough !

Man Utd and Arsenal are both through, it looks like Englands increasing domination in Europe is still shining through. We look likely to make up 50% of the last eight.

just because he raped your team so savagely last year, no need to be bitter about it.

no excuses here, Arsenal simply played better and I knew it was just a matter of time before Pirlo's narcolepsy cost us the tie. him and Ambro had absolute shockers in midfield, and with them playing so poorly Kaka was never gonna get any space to work. Flamini closed him down well all game.

oh, and you just knew we wouldn't score when Gila came on. it's sort of common sense by now. congratulations Arse, fully deserved

Ronaldo.......again...........

What a great performance by Arsenal.

I honestly thought Sevilla would have killed off the tie with ease.
