FC Infesta played Ala-Arriba to a 2-2 draw in a friendly on Wednesday. Denilson and Ricardo Rocha scored early, but the reserve defense just couldn't hold for the win.

Sunday, 3-0 and our FIRST LEAGUE VICTORY!
Our heroes dominated the Felgueiras game with a hard, man-marking defence and good offensive passing variations. Mauro Dias scored his 2nd goal of the season and Rocha scored his first on a great header just before the half. Even while playing more conservatively, the midfield put together good passing attacks and Pica was able to add another goal before the final whistle. Scouting the opposition definitely allowed the defence to precisely mark the opposing threats.

Does anyone have suggestions as to improving shooting accuracy? We're always getting 8 to 12 shots on target (10-15 total shots), but few goals.

I got him at a club named Dalum. I can't even remember where the club is! I just did some digging and found him.

More tough matches, they sure don't come easy!

Played Caparica in the 3rd Round of the Cup. Bruno was still out, so we started Duarte. Marcelo scored in the 25th, but Caparica equalised 12 minutes later. But then our hopes drop, Pica (who has been red hot!) goes down injured before the half!(Initial assessment is out 3-4 weeks)(: No score in the second half, no score in the first overtime half, no score at the end. We travel next week to replay the game.

Carmarinha and Sergio scored in a friendly against Calipolense and the defence held them scoreless! Good crowd, over 4200.

Back to the Cup. Denilson scored within 5 minutes and then both teams moved well but missed their opportunities. The nail-biting continued for 85 minutes and we held, FC Infesta advances to the Fourth Round Only one problem, we will play against PORTO of the Premier League!

We travelled to Braga B and the game started horribly. Bruno was beaten twice and only the hustle of Denilson saved us. He took two passes from Paralta (Man-of-Match) and scored twice to bring us level. Bruno rated a 5 at the half, so I substituted Duarte. The defence stiffened and Rocha was able to force in a header at the 81st. Our second league victory!

FC Infesta is now 2-1-2 (7 points and 0 GD), putting us 10th in the league.

Well, I couldn't sign the romanian because he is a little off of what you said... 8.7m pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I got the brazillian Leanardo(from wc98), and so far his been playing well, and my defence is rock solid, and I almost signed Filipe from Felguiares, but I just missed out.

Hard work indeed, Carlos!

I've been very busy lately, but I managed to play my first league game 10 minutes ago. The result speaks for itself, although things were pretty tight in the first half. I bought Rui Pinheiro, who was labelled as a great goallie, but he's been a disappointment so far.
CM's FC Infesta has been loyal to its real counterpart. Nine goals in a game! Wow!


Here's something interesting.
Monday night I was zapping and who do I see on the tube? None other than FC Infesta's manager, Augusto Mata. He was being interviewed on a new show, "Cumplicidades" (Complicities). Although rare, it's not the first time our great coach is subject of a couple minutes of fame, since he's been ahead of Infesta for 29 straight years.
What called my attention though, was the familiar face of the interviewer. It was only in the end of the show that I found out who he was, when our good old Mata complimented him: "Thanks Tó Zé, see you back in training"!!!!!!!! Yes, some FC Infesta players are amateurs and one of them has his own TV show!!!! Is this a different club or what!?

Played a "few" tonight and still found it tough going.
League play: Joane, 1-1 draw.
Gondomar, 2-1 loss
Pedras Rubras, 3-0 victory

Team is 3-2-3 and in 9th place.

Also played three friendlies of course (Wednesday is "friendly day") and lost one surprisingly to Avintes. I still think these friendlies are good morale builders and training for the younger players. Plus, both of the last two friendlies had over 4000 fans. On the down side, you are virtually playing with two teams at once, much more work!

SBF, how are you doing with FC Infesta?

BTW, Hugo, how old is the team IRL and has it ever had another manager?

IRL? Sorry, I don't understand...

FC Infesta has had different managers but it is the same guy for the past 30 years.

Well Basically, i started with them and played three matches ! i lost two and barely tied the other so i gave up and resumed my Verona game (it's hard enough), i cannot beat other teams ! i lose against weak teams and against strong teams by a large margin ! when a players morale is low i NEVER put them in (only if i need them BADLY i'll use them), i use a 4-1-3-2 formation (something like that) and sometimes a 4-4-2 Attacking ! I searched for an FC Infesta website but I couldn't find one, so I was unable to find any information about the real team. I noticed that Mata managed them for years and that made me curious as to what year the team was formed. You know, give us a little history about the club. BTW Hugo, what type of engineering are you studying?

SBF, I don't think I know enough to help (you really need someone like manufan or Dave_H) because I'm desparately trying to get more offence out of my team. We're getting 10 to 15 shots per game, but only scoring 1 or 2. We have never scored more than three goals.

Can you give us an idea of the scoring lines, I mean, are you getting beat 1-0 or 5-0 or 5-4? And don't tell me "all the above"

You must be some kind of Genius or something. I just won 5-0!!!!

I use a similar tactic too, as recommended by Dave_H. It really works. I won my first game 6-2 and I had a terrific victory in Leixões field by 2-0. For those who are unaware, that team is our biggest rival!
Nelson is proving to be a good reliable striker, scoring his 3rd goal in two games. I also had good performances by everybody else (lowest grade -> 7). I switched goallies, in what proved to be a good move.

Carlos, you can't find a website about FC Infesta, because there isn't one. Only first and a few second division teams have websites. I hope that situation changes in a couple of years, at least that seems to be the tendency.
However, I can tell you that the FC Infesta was founded on the 1st of August of the year 1934, which means we are a relatively recent club.
The best we've achieved so far was a couple of years in the 2nd division, about 8 years ago. Curiously, we were never relegated. The 2nd division was splited in 4: the 2nd league (with the top 8 teams plus some more from the 3rd division) and the 2nd B North, Center and South. We got placed in the North division and that's where we've been ever since.

Oh, I'm studying mechanical engineering.

Perhaps one of the computer engineering students could design and operate a website as a college project. At each new term he (or she!) could add additional features or innovations, such as, an English translation page. I would think that the team would also find ways to cooperate in this project. BTW, I know this great academic website dedicated to Fado music that he could use as a model!

FC INFESTA ELIMINATED
It should come as no surprise that our heroes could not match up with the powerful Porto team in the Fourth Round of the Portugese Cup. We lost in an exciting match, 3-2, with the winning goal coming in the 87th minute. The 7750 fans were somewhat disappointed, but in no way embarrassed by the team's valiant effort.
