If Joe decides to give FIFA 2003 a 5/10 I won't post it.
Not because I'm out to give FIFA 2003 uneccesary credit, but simply because as the editor of Soccer Gaming it is my job to assure that everything that appears on my site is 100% factual and correct. And I strongly feel that giving FIFA 2003 a 5/10 overall is not correct.
I'll talk to Joe about this, though, cos I certainly want to post his review.
What I'll suggest to Joe though is that we give FIFA 2003 two ratings. As a FIFA site, we are obviously incredibly "picky" in our reviews. So I think we should give the game a "FIFA rating" which is low (perhaps not as low as 5/10) which gives a representation of how we feel FIFA is coming along and how much improvement EA need to put in before we have the perfect game.
Overall though, as a video game, I feel FIFA 2003 doesn't deserve anything worse than a 7.5/10. I personally would give it a 8/10, but 5/10 is just not correct as it is still a very enjoyable and well made video game.
BTW, I'm not saying that controls are good. I agree, they need a lot of improvement and on their own, the controls should get a very low score.
Basically what I'm meaning is that we (the FIFA community) are incredibly secptical and expect the absolute best each year. So to the FIFA community, FIFA might get a low score. But to the other millions of people who play on a more casual basis than us die hard fans, it deserves a much better score as an overall video game.
Joe, are you sure you didn't just lose in World Cup mode and felt like taking your frustration out on the game?
Grassy, Joe isn't anti-FIFA, he just likes making controversy. He knows perfectly well that I wouldn't post a review that gave FIFA 2003 5/10, he just wanted to start something.
